November 18th, 2019: For 2019-20, the IIM Udaipur - Indian Institute of Management (IIMU) has been declared as a robust accelerator system hub in Rajasthan by the National Science & Technology Entrepreneurship Development Board (NSTEDB), Science and Technology Department of the Government of India. Only nine incubations are listed across India, one of which is led by Umamahesvaram Mandi, the IIMU Accelerator Program Centre.
Recent developments have taken place in the context of the forthcoming IIM-U’s Launch-n-Zoom 2.0 accelerator cohort programme. The eleborate programme is open to technology-based startups from every field under the theme of MARKET-VALIDATION-LAUNCH. The selected cohort will begin training in January 2020. Prior to this, IIM-U’s Incubation Centre hosted its first successful cohort in 2018 where 18 startups were selected out of 275 applicants following a thorough process.
Applications from all over India are welcomed till November 30 for early-stage startups that have done Proof-of-Concept and are in the process of developing a Minimum Viable Product (MVP) and building prototype.
IIM Udaipur Hosts Solaris, Annual Management Fest
November 11th, 2019: IIM-U on November 11 hosted a two-day long extravaganza Annual Management Fest named Solaris. This year the theme of the event was decided to be “Success Through Synergy”. The event started with the operations summit, Unmesh, which hosted Ranag Davala referring to the meaning and impact of synergy in his career. This was followed by the Economics Summit, Antar-Drishti, presented by Chief Economist YES Bank Dr Shubhada Rao, who gave an enriching message on linking the supply disruption to the policymaking effect of technology.
Later, Chief Economic Strategist at Geojit Dr V K Vijaykumar gave a lecture on the learnings from the structural economic slowdown and twin shocks of demonetisation and Goods and Services Tax (GST).
Investment Manager at Klay Capital Akshat Kumar was the final speaker at the summit. The marketing summit of Solaris’19 ended with Savannah. The Senior Director, DELL-EMC, L. Jagannath spoke about creating brands, the value of messaging, marketing strategies and user experience and how to achieve optimal results by incorporating effective policies, approaches, and implementation methods.
Events such as Solaris are initiated by IIM-U to help the students interact with the industry leaders and gain keen insight from their knowledge and experience.
