Q:   How is SNAP different from other management entrance exams?

A:

SNAP features three major sections, namely General English Quantitative, Data Interpretation & Data Sufficiency, and Analytical & Logical Reasoning. The test lasts for 60 minutes and comprises 60 questions, with each correct answer earning one mark and a 0.25 mark deduction for each incorrect response. Additionally, the exam is conducted in online mode, making it a more convenient option for test-takers.

The SNAP 2023 syllabus encompasses a broad range of topics, including Reading Comprehension, Verbal Reasoning, Quantitative Aptitude Data Interpretation, and Analytical & Logical Reasoning. To make it to the next round of the selection process, candidates must meet the required cut-off score and impress the selection panel during Group Exercise, Personal Interaction, and Writing Ability Test (GE-PIWAT).

Compared to other management entrance exams like CAT XAT and MAT SNAP 2023 is a refreshing change of pace. With its shorter duration, fewer questions, and different selection process, it provides candidates with a unique opportunity to demonstrate their skills and stand out from the crowd.

Q:   My SNAP percentile is 94, and I had given the interview at SIBM Hyderabad. The interview was average. Are there any chances of admission?

A:
Based on your SNAP percentile of 94, you have a good chance of getting shortlisted for SIBM Hyderabad. However, admission to SIBM Hyderabad is not solely based on your SNAP score and interview performance. The final admission decision is based on various factors, including academic performance, work experience (if any), extracurricular activities, diversity, and the overall profile of the candidate. So, while your interview performance was average, it is still possible that you may be offered admission based on other factors that the institute considers important. However, it ultimately depends on the cut-off scores and the number of seats available for the course you have applied for. It is best to wait for the final admission decision from SIBM Hyderabad and consider backup options in case you are not offered admission.

Q:   What are the chances with 60 percentile in SNAP of admission in MBA hospital and healthcare management?

A:
With a 60 percentile in the Symbiosis National Aptitude (SNAP) Test, the chances of admission to an MBA in Hospital and Healthcare Management programme may be limited. However, scoring well in the SNAP exam is crucial for admission to SIBM Pune, which offers a programme in this field. How to Prepare for SNAP 2024 in 3 month Is SNAP tougher than CAT?

Q:   Can I prepare for SNAP in 3 months?

A:

Yes, SNAP preparation is possible in three months as the difficulty level of this exam is easy to moderate. So, if one starts preparing for it with only three months in hand, even then they can score well if they put in six to eight hours daily into preparation. Complete the syllabus in 45 days and the give one month to mock test practice. In the last few days, do revision for complete preparation. To be in a better position, focus more on the topics from which maximum questions are asked. For example, in General English, most of the questions are Grammar based, so focus on it more. In Quantitative Aptitude section, more questions are asked from Arithmetic and Algebra than Geometry so focus on the former two. SNAP always has at least data interpretation question so don’t ignore it. On the other hand, the Logical Reasoning section of SNAP has maximum number of questions (25) and topics are diverse so pay more attention on this section if you have less time to prepare.

Q:   I am preparing for CAT exam. Do I need to prepare for SNAP exam separately?

A:

Those preparing for both CAT and SNAP exam need not prepare separately. CAT and SNAP syllabus are the same so one can prepare for both from the same study material.  However, since the exam pattern and difficulty level of both exams are different from each other, candidates need to devote a good amount of time on exam specific preparation. They must practice SNAP mock tests to understand the test pattern, topic-wise weightage, types of questions and difficulty level of the questions. The biggest difference between SNAP and CAT is the type of questions, so you need to practice sample question for SNAP to know how and what to prepare for it. You also need to know the sectional composition of SNAP, which is different from CAT. SNAP is easier than CAT so a mix of tough and moderate level SNAP sample questions and mock tests will be adequate for preparation.

Q:   Which are the best books for SNAP preparation?

A:

SNAP syllabus is similar to other MBA entrance exams, so candidates can prepare for it by referring to books for CAT and XAT, etc. But they must solve SNAP specific sample paper and mock tests to develop the skill to solve SNAP questions which are slightly different from other MBA entrance exams. Some of the books that are recommended for SNAP preparation have been listed below:

Q:   Should I take coaching for SNAP preparation?

A:

Yes, coaching is recommended for preparation for any competitive exam as the candidate gets best of aid such as books, study material and mentors. However, the candidates must join coaching if only they can follow the rigorous time-table and daily classes.

About six to eight hours daily is considered good enough duration for SNAP preparation. However, if you start exam preparation late (by October) then you need to devote 10-12 hours daily. SNAP is easy and if you are preparing for other MBA entrance exams, you may not need to work too hard on it. A good number of sample papers and mock tests will be good enough.

Q:   What is a good score in SNAP?

A:

A good attempt of around 80 per cent of questions with 85-90 per cent accuracy is considered good score in SNAP. The SNAP exam has 60 questions only, so the number of attempts considered good are 40-45. Candidates must aim to solve a good number of questions in every section of SNAP, so that their overall score is good and they have a better chance of getting selected for admission. If you do not clear the SNAP cut off may not be eligible for admission to MBA programmers offered by SIU institutes. Meeting the minimum cut off is a mandatory requirement to be eligible for the Group Exercise (GE), Personal Interview (PI) and Writing Ability Test (WAT). Thus, when preparing for SNAP, keep in mind a target score. The SNAP cut offs are lower for Reserved category candidates.

A:

No, clearing the SNAP exam is not the only criterion for admission. The candidates will also have to clear a personality assessment test which includes Group Exercise (GE), Writing Ability Test (WAT) and Personal Interview (PI) round to be selected for SIU admission. This personality assessment round is conducted after SNAP result announcement and only those candidates are eligible who meet the SNAP cut off fixed by the institutes.

Apart from that, the institutes evaluate every shortlisted candidate’s academic record, i.e. score of class 10, 12 and graduation. Those who have been scoring consistently well in academics too, stand a better chance of getting selected for admission. Marks relaxation for academic and gender diversity, and work experience are also important factors for selection.

Q:   What is the eligibility criteria for SNAP and what is the selection process?

A:

The eligibility criteria and selection process are designed to pick the cream of the crop. To be eligible, candidates need to have a Bachelor's degree in any discipline from a recognised university with a minimum of 50% marks. But don't fret if you're in your final year, as you can still apply as long as you obtain the required minimum marks. Once you clear the eligibility criteria, the selection process begins, which includes shortlisting candidates based on their SNAP score, followed by the Group Exercise, Personal Interaction, and Writing Ability Test (GE-PIWAT).

To secure your spot, you need to perform well in all stages of the selection process, including demonstrating your aptitude, communication skills, and leadership potential. Sectional SNAP cut offs may be evaluated for selection of candidate for Group Exercise, Writing Ability Test and Personal Interview. Scores of every section will be taken into consideration for shortlisting of candidates along with their academic record. Thus, candidates must ensure that they perform well enough in each section of the SNAP exam.

Q:   I am in my final year of Graduation. Can I apply for SNAP 2024?

A:

Since there is minimum score requirement for SNAP, final year candidates will have to make sure that their minimum score of first and second year of the bachelor’s degree programme should be above 50 per cent (45 per cent for reserved category). So, you need to check the average score of your first and second score is above the minimum requirement or not. Important FAQs Regarding SNAP 2024

Check here Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) about SNAP 2024 exam:
