What is a good score in SNAP?

A good attempt of around 80 per cent of questions with 85-90 per cent accuracy is considered good score in SNAP. The SNAP exam has 60 questions only, so the number of attempts considered good are 40-45. Candidates must aim to solve a good number of questions in every section of SNAP, so that their overall score is good and they have a better chance of getting selected for admission. If you do not clear the SNAP cut off may not be eligible for admission to MBA programmers offered by SIU institutes. Meeting the minimum cut off is a mandatory requirement to be eligible for the Group Exercise (GE), Personal Interview (PI) and Writing Ability Test (WAT). Thus, when preparing for SNAP, keep in mind a target score. The SNAP cut offs are lower for Reserved category candidates.

What could be the score vs percentile for this year SNAP?

The score vs percentile for SNAP exam would depend on various factors such as the number of test-takers, the difficulty level of the exam, and the distribution of scores. It is difficult to predict the exact score vs percentile relationship for the upcoming SNAP exam. However, based on the previous year trends, a score of around 60-70 out of 150 may fetch you a percentile of around 80-85. Again, this is just an estimate, and the actual score vs percentile relationship may differ. What is the marking scheme of SNAP exam?

SNAP exam has 60 MCQs and every question carries 2 mark. Earlier, there was differential marking in SNAP exam, but in 2020 the marking scheme was revised and every question across sections was allotted 1 mark. Is the SNAP answer key released after exam?

The official answer key of SNAP is not released. It used to be released till 2019, but since 2020, when the exam was revised to three session mode, the examination body does not release the official SNAP answer key. Since, the format of the exam now is such that it gives the candidate a chance to improve their score, only the scorecards are released finally. Candidates can however get the unofficial and memory based answer keys from MBA preparation coaching institutes and study groups. These memory based SNAP answer keys help candidates in assessing their performance by providing them possible answers to questions by which they can calculate the number of correct and incorrect attempts.

Does SIU release the official SNAP question papers?

The official SNAP question paper is not released by the exam authority anymore. It used to be released along with the answer key after the exam until 2019. Since 2020, when the exam format changed from single session to three sessions, the SNAP question paper, response sheet and answer key release was stopped. Now, after the SNAP exam, the authorities directly release the scorecards. However, unofficial SNAP answer keys are released by coaching institutes and mentors for candidates to analyse their performance. The unofficial answer keys are released on the same day as exam session contain SNAP questions and their solved answers. Are the question papers of all SNAP sessions same?

The question papers of all SNAP sessions are same but the questions are different. The pattern, structure, difficulty level and marking scheme are the same for all SNAP sessions but every question paper has unique questions. This is done so that no candidate has any advantage or disadvantage when they appear for the next attempt. Candidates preparing for the SNAP exam, must keep in mind that the different sessions could be of different difficulty level. If their first attempt was easy, the second attempt may not be easy. What is the difficulty level of SNAP question paper?

SNAP is one of the few MBA entrance exams which is easy in terms of difficulty level. It is much easier The number of questions, as well as the exam duration are less that than other MBA entrance exams. The type of questions asked in SNAP as also pretty straightforward. Moreover, SNAP exam is held thrice for candidates to repeat attempts, which allows candidates to improve their score if they want to. The SNAP syllabus is same as other MBA entrance exam and there are no questions on Reading Comprehension or Data Sufficiency. This makes the SNAP exam much easier to crack than other exams. Since 2020, the exam is conducted for only 60 minutes and the total number of questions asked is also 60. The first section of SNAP question paper is General English, the second section is Analytical & Logical Reasoning and the third section is Quantitative, Data Interpretation & Data Sufficiency.

How many attempts are allowed in SNAP exam?

Every candidate can make three attempts in SNAP exam. The SNAP exam is conducted in three sessions in a gap of one or two weeks. Candidates can mention their number of attempts in the SNAP application form. However, they will have to pay application fee per session. Thus, candidates who are sure of making multiple attempts only then they should apply for multiple sessions as the fee amount is non-refundable. The scores of best attempt will be taken into consideration for shortlisting of candidates for Group Exercise, Personal Interview and Writing Ability Test. Ideally candidates must take all three attempts as the difficulty level of the sessions could be different and it may so happen that one session is easy and candidates can score high in that.

Is there a provision of marks revaluation in SNAP?

No, there is no provision of rechecking or revaluation in SNAP. Candidates get three attempts in SNAP to improve their score in a single academic year. Candidates can attempt the exam three times. However, whether to appear for the exam again or not is the decision to be taken at the time of SNAP form filling only as the option to appear for multiple sessions is mentioned in the application form only. You cannot register for re-test after the SNAP registration window closes. Best score of all the attempts will be considered for admission. The scores mentioned on the SNAP scorecard are final. If any candidate wishes to improve the score, then they will have to attempt the exam next year again.

When will SNAP 2024 cut off be announced?

The date of SNAP cut off announcement is never communicated by the Symbiosis International (Deemed) University, as the selection process is conducted by the constituent institutes individually. However, it has been seen over the years that the SNAP cut off are released about a week after exam result declaration. The SNAP cut offs are available through login at the websites of SIU institutes as candidates who pass the SNAP exam, have to fill the personal interview form based on their score and college cut off. The SNAP cut off usually ranges between 55-98 percentile. The cut offs for SIMB Pune is the highest every year and the cut offs for SIHS Pune is the lowest.

What is the MBA selection criteria through SNAP?

Candidates are selected on the basis of SNAP cut offs for the MBA admission round which consists of Group Exercise (GE), Personal Interview (PI) and Writing Ability Test (WAT). This round is held in February and March after the announcement of SNAP result. Candidates who clear the GE-PI-WAT round are selected for MBA admission. The parameters for selection also include class 10, 12 and graduation scores, academic profile and work experience. All SIU institutes conduct Group Exercise, Writing Ability Test but individually. Sectional SNAP cut offs may be evaluated for selection of candidate for Group Exercise, Writing Ability Test and Personal Interview. Scores of every section will be taken into consideration for shortlisting of candidates along with their academic record. Thus, candidates must ensure that they perform well enough in each section of the SNAP exam.

When was SNAP 2023 result announced?

Symbiosis National Aptitude Test 2023 results was announced on January 10, 2024. The date of SNAP result declaration was announced by the exam conducting body - Symbiosis International (Deemed) University. Applicants could required to download their scorecards from the exam website by using their login credentials before the download window closed. The hard copy of the Symbiosis National Aptitude Test result is sent to any student by post. Candidates must note that they will have to use the best score of their attempts in SNAP for seeking selection to the admission round of SIU institutes. The selection was based on cut offs, which were released in February 2024.

Is SNAP exam score the only criterion for SIU MBA admission?

No, clearing the SNAP exam is not the only criterion for admission. The candidates will also have to clear a personality assessment test which includes Group Exercise (GE), Writing Ability Test (WAT) and Personal Interview (PI) round to be selected for SIU admission. This personality assessment round is conducted after SNAP result announcement and only those candidates are eligible who meet the SNAP cut off fixed by the institutes. Apart from that, the institutes evaluate every shortlisted candidate’s academic record, i.e. score of class 10, 12 and graduation. Those who have been scoring consistently well in academics too, stand a better chance of getting selected for admission. Marks relaxation for academic and gender diversity, and work experience are also important factors for selection.

Which section of SNAP question paper has maximum number of questions?

Until 2019, Quantitative, Data Interpretation & Data Sufficiency section of SNAP exam used to have the maximum number of questions (40), but from SNAP 2020, the Analytical and Logical Reasoning section has maximum number of questions (25). Now, Quantitative, Data Interpretation & Data Sufficiency section has only 20 questions. The main topics from which questions are asked in this section are, Family Tree/Blood Relations, Seating Arrangement, Clocks & Calendars, Critical Reasoning, Coding/Decoding, Direction Sense, Syllogisms, Visual Reasoning, Analogy & Series, Mathematical Reasoning, Meaningful Word/Matrix and Verbal & Miscellaneous Reasoning. To prepare for this section of SNAP, candidates must practice a lot of sample questions of all difficulty levels –easy, medium and tough. There are no formulae or concepts on Logical Reasoning so the preparation is majorly dependent on practice.

SNAP 2024 answer key ( memory based) are available for Test 1, Test 2 and Test 3. These memory based SNAP answer keys help in understanding the difficulty level of the exam and estimating admission cut off percentiles of SIU constituent institutes. How to Calculate SNAP Score

SNAP marking scheme is similar to other MBA entrance exams. All questions carry one mark each. There is negative marking of 0.25 marks. Given below is the marking scheme of SNAP 2024:

So, if you get 10 questions right and two wrong out of 15 questions in VARC section, your sectional score will be (10x1) - (0.25+0.25)=9.5

The total marks will be calculated by totaling individual scores of all the three sections. Thus, once the unofficial SNAP 2024 answer key is released; candidates can calculate their marks and predict their total score.

SNAP Cut Offs

Admission to SIU is based on SNAP cut offs, determined by the SIU instiutes for their MBA programmes. Candidates who clear the SNAP exam are supposed to fill online application forms of SIU institute to participate in their admission round, ie. WAT-GE-PI. Those who meet the SNAP cut off, are selected for WAT-GE-PI. Check the estimated SNAP cut offs for MBA/PGDM admission.
