CAT 2024 response sheet is out at IIMCAT website. The CAT response sheet/answer key 2024 contains question-wise recorded responses of the test takers and official answers determined by the experts. Candidates can now check their CAT response sheet 2024 to know how much score they are likely to get. This will given them an idea of expected CAT percentile.

Q: Are CAT cut offs announced along with the CAT result?

CAT cut offs are not announced along with the CAT result. The cut offs also not released publicaly. They are known after a few days of result announcement when the IIMs and other colleges start their shortlisting process. The IIMs will open shortlist window basis the CAT cut offs two to three days after the result announcement. The CAT percentile of candidates shortlisted for Written Ability Test (What), Group Discussion GD and Personal Interview, PI can be considered the cut off for that IIM. For example, if a candidate with CAT percentile of 99 belonging from General category is selected for the What/GD-PI of IIM Calcutta, then the CAT cut off for IIM Calcutta is 99 percentile. Only those candidates who will make it to the What/GD-PI round of IIMs will get to know the cut offs.

Candidate will have to fill the objection form by using their CAT login ID and password. Objection fee of INR 1,200 per question is to be paid online. Following are the steps to fill the CAT objection form:

How to Calculate CAT Exam Score?

To calculate the score with the help of the CAT response sheet, candidates must know the CAT marking scheme:

Given below is the table indicating marking scheme of the CAT 2024 exam:

Note: There will be no deduction of marks for unanswered questions.

How to Calculate CAT score?

Based on the marking scheme mentioned above, one can calculate their CAT raw score by observing the following:

If a candidate has made 50 correct attempts then the score will be 50x3 = 150 marks.
If a candidate has marked 10 questions incorrectly, then there will be deduction of 10 marks.
Subtract total marks deducted from total marks scored to get CAT raw score, which is 150 - 10 = 140.
So, the candidate's raw score will be 140/198. This raw score is however not used for result preparation.
The raw CAT scores will be normalised to ensure candidates from all three exam slots are assessed ont the same level.
The normalised CAT score is then used for percentile calculation.
The CAT 2024 result is declared in percentile and B-schools select candidates on the basis of percentile, not score.

There is no pattern to which CAT question paper can be the toughest. The CAT question paper of every slot has unique questions. The examination body strives to maintain the same difficulty level of the paper across all slots but it may happen that a question can be more difficult from another. It is seen that, to keep the uniqueness of the question paper intact, the examination authority also changes the topic wise weightage a little bit across the exam slots. Q: What is the sectional CAT cut off for VGSOM?

The selection process of VGSOM admission to MBA is a two step process. The step one is on the basis of CAT scores where candidates are shortlisted for the further process of Personal Interview. For VGSOM there is no sectional cutoff, however, candidates must meet the overall MBA4 cutoff of 90 percentile for General category, 80 for NC-OBC Category and 75 each for SC, ST and PwD categories.
