CAT 2024 form correction window opened on September 27, 2024 for candidates to edit the already submitted application form. The last date to edit photo, signature and test city is today, September 30, 2024. Candidates must avail this opportunity if required as no request for changes in the CAT form will be accepted after 5:00 pm today. 

IIM CAT 2024 registration last date was September 20, 2024. Earlier the deadline was September 13 but it was extended by a week. Candidates had to submit the duly filled CAT form and pay the fee by 5:00 PM. Candidates had to create a login ID at the iimcat.ac.in website to fill the CAT 2024 application form. Candidates can choose five options as test city options in the CAT 2024 application form. Q:   How can I apply for the CAT exam 2024?

A:

CAT (Common Admission Test) is a competitive exam conducted by the Indian Institutes of Management (Iims) for admission to various management programs. The registration process for CAT 2024 started from August 1, 2024. The last date to fill the CAT application form 2024 is September 20, 2024. Here are the general steps to apply for CAT 2024:

  • Visit the official website of CAT (iimcat. ac. in) and click on the "New Candidate Registration" link. 
  • Fill out the registration form with basic details to register
  • Then fill the CAT 2024 application form with your personal and academic details.
  • You will also need to upload your photograph, signature, and other required documents.
  • Pay the registration fee online through the available payment modes.

After successful registration, you will receive a confirmation email containing your registration details and application number.

You can download your admit card from the official website once it is released. The admit card contains important details such as exam date, time, and venue. Q:   What is the CAT application fee?

A:

The CAT application fee is INR 2,500 for General, EWS and NC-OBC candidates. For the SC/SCT/PWD candidates, the fee is INR 1,250. Applicants have to pay the fee at the time of form filling. The application form is not accepted without the payment of fees. Candidates must also keep in mind that the CAT application fee is non-refundable under any circumstances. Thus, candidates must fill their forms carefully as if they make a mistake they will have to fill the application form again and pay the fees again. There is a provision of form correction in CAT but only test centre, photo and signature can be edited in the already submitted form. In case, you, ve made a mistake in any other field, you will have to fill the form again.

Q:   What are the registration dates for CAT 2024?

A:

CAT application process 2024 began from August 1, 2024 at the iimcat.ac.in website. The registration process will end on September 20, 2024.

The schedule of CAT 2024 registration cum application was announced on July28, 2024 at the iimcat.ac.in website. The notification for CAT 2024 was released at the IIMCAT websites and all national newspapers. The last date to submit CAT application form 2024 was September 13, 2024 but was later extended to September 20, 2024.

The CAT application link will be activated at all 21 IIMs as well. Candidates must submit their CAT application form 2024 before the deadline. Candidates must note that the CAT application form is also the form for IIM MBA/PGDM programmes. The field to select IIMs will be mentioned in the CAT form 2024. Candidates are required to choose the IIMs they wish to apply for MBA Admission through CAT score. Candidates will be eligible for admission to only those IIMs that they shall have selected in the CAT application form.

How to Edit CAT Application Form 2024?

CAT 2024 form correction is a one time process. Candidates can upload a better photograph and image of their signature in the CAT form or change the test city preference. No other section is editable. Check the process of CAT form correction below:

  • Click on ‘login’ tab
  • Enter User ID and password
  • Click on Application Form
  • Go to relevant section (photo, signature, test city) and make changes

Q:   Is there any fee charged for CAT form correction?

A:

No, the candidates do not have to pay any fee for CAT form correction. The facility is provided to candidates free of cost. However, if they have made an error in a field that will not be available for editing during form correction, then they will have to fill a fresh form before the submission deadline and pay the CAT application fee again. So, candidates must review the CAT application form before submitting to check whether they have filled all the information correctly or not. Once submitted, the form will not be editable but of photo, signature and test city.

Q:   For how long is CAT form correction window usually open?

A:

The CAT form correction window usually opens for 2-3 days. It opens a day after the last date of CAT registration. For example, if the CAT registration 2024 will end on September 13, the form correction window will open on September 14 and close on September 17, 2024.

Only registered candidates, who shall have paid the application fee will be able to access their CAT 2024 application forms to make changes. CAT form correction is a one-time activity so candidates must not miss the chance of updating their photo, signature and changing test city choices if required.

IIM CAT 2024 Registration cum Application Process

CAT exam registration 2024 is a three-step process which includes online registration, filling up the CAT form 2024 and payment of fees. Check below the step-by-step process of IIM CAT 2024 registration:

Step 1: Register for CAT 2024

Follow the steps given below for online registration for CAT exam:

  • Open the official CAT website iimcat.ac.in
  • Click on 'Register' tab under 'New Candidate Registration' tab
  • Enter name, date of birth, email ID, mobile phone number and nationality
  • Click on 'Generate OTP' tab 
  • On successful registration, an OTP will be sent on the registered mobile number  
  • Verify CAT 2024 registration by entering the OTP in the given field 

Step 2: Filling up CAT Application Form 2024

After verification, the candidate will receive a user ID and password on registered email ID and mobile number. To fill the form, log in again using the CAT 2024 user ID and password.

The CAT form has six sections. Candidates are required to fill relevant details in all the six pages of the form for successful submission. Check below details related to the six sections of CAT exam registration form 2024:

  1. Personal Details: In this section of CAT application form, the candidates are required to enter details such as name, date of birth, father’s name, category, gender, nationality, communication address, email ID, mobile phone number, etc.
  2. Academic Details: In this section, the candidates have to enter class 10 and 12 exam scores, bachelor’s degree details and marksheet and details of other professional courses (if any).
  3. Work Experience: If a candidate has relevant work-experience, they need to fill in details such as name of the company, duration of employment, designation, etc., in this section.
  4. Programmes: In this section, the candidate has to select IIM institutes of their choice and the MBA programmes they wish to pursue.
  5. Test City: In this section, test city preference is to be marked. Candidates can select up to six cities in order of preference from first to last in the CAT application form.
  6. Payment: To pay the CAT application fee, candidates can use Credit/Debit Card, Internet Banking or Paytm/PayU mobile wallets.

Step 3: Payment of CAT Registration Fees

The third and last step in CAT exam registration 2024 is payment of application fee. After furnishing details in the first five sections of the form, click on 'save and continue' to proceed to fee payment window.

Q:   Can I fill the CAT application form offline?

A:

No, the CAT application form can only be filled out online on the official website iimcat.ac.in. There is no option to submit the CAT form in offline mode. Candidates will have to create an account on the CAT website once the registrations begin and fill out the CAT form through that candidate account. Candidates must also note that no other website hosts the CAT form other than iimcat.ac.in 

There is no provision of paying CAT fees in cash, challan or Demand Draft either. The CAT registration fee can be paid online only through Internet banking, credit/debit cards or mobile wallets only. The payment window will be available in the candidate dashboard as part of the CAT application form. Candidates have to simply follow the instructions to pay the fee. Candidates must note that fee payment is mandatory for CAT form filling. Until the fee is paid successfully, the form will not be accepted. Thus, candidates must check the fee payment acknowledgement slip after making the payment.

Q:   Can I edit my CAT application form after submission?

A:
Once the CAT application form is submitted, candidates are not allowed to make changes in it. In case, you've made errors, you need to fill a fresh CAT application form and pay the fees again. However, editing of certain fields such as photo, signature and test city preference is allowed during form correction process which starts 2-3 days after the CAT registration process concludes. The form correction window is opened for 3-4 days during which candidates can edit only these three fields. If they have made a mistake in any other field, they cannot edit it. No request for changes is accepted by the examination authorities. Thus, it is very important to fill the CAT application form correctly with valid details. Candidates must keep the important documents such as Aadhaar card, class 10, class 12, graduation certificates, birth Certificate address proof, work experience documents, etc. To cross check the information while filling the form. They must also be very careful in selecting Iims and courses as they will be eligible for only those Iims and courses which they shall have selected in the CAT form.

Q:   Can I fill the CAT 2024 registration form before, and submit the fee later?

A:

Yes, you can fill the CAT application form 2024 on one day and pay the fee on another day as it is not mandatory to register for CAT exam and fill the application form or pay the fee in one go. The registration and application window will remain open for the candidate who has registered for the exam and created and ID, until the last date of form submission. The applicant can login in and check/fill/edit the CAT application form anytime during the form filling period. Only the phone number and email ID will not be editable once registration is done. However, candidates need to submit the CAT form and application fee before the deadline to be eligible to appear for the exam. The CAT application form will not be submitted until the fee payment is done. The fee can be paid via debit card, credit card, net banking and UPI wallet.

A:

IIM selection criteria for all the 21 campuses is same and includes selection of candidates through three stages. CAT score Written Ability Test (WAT), Group Discussion GD and Personal Interview (PI) Academic record, work experience Academic and gender diversity CAT exam score is the first parameter on which candidates are shortlisted for admission. Q:   What are the facilities for PwD candidates in CAT exam?

A:
For PwD candidates, facilities in CAT exam include, relaxation of marks in graduation. The minimum score required by PwD candidate in graduation for appearing in CAT exam is 45 per cent aggregate. Apart from that, such candidates are provided scribe service at the exam centre. To avail the service such candidates have to fill the relevant form during registration process. The CAT exam authorities follow government rule viz. PwD candidate which is, 'Person with Benchmark Disability' means a person with not less than forty percent of a specified disability where the specified disability has not been defined in measurable terms and includes a person with disability where the specified disability has been defined in measurable terms, as certified by the certifying authority, as defined in The Rights of Persons with Disabilities ACT 2016 (RPwD ACT 2016). The categories of disability are, blindness and low vision, deaf and hard of hearing, locomotor disability including cerebral palsy, leprosy cured, dwarfism, acid attack victims and muscular dystrophy, autism, intellectual disability, specific learning disability and mental illness, multiple disabilities from amongst persons under clauses (a) to (d), f) other 'specified disabilities' mentioned in 'The Schedule' of the RPwD ACT 2016.

What is CAT Exam Fees?

Q:   Is CAT fee refundable?

A:

CAT fee is non-refundable. Candidates must note that under no circumstances will the CAT fee be refunded to any candidate. The fee amount of INR 2400 (INR 1200 for Reserved category students) once paid cannot be claimed for refund.

However, if the money has been deducted from your account but the payment process is interrupted, the bank will refund the amount and credit it to your account.

Since, the CAT fee is non-refundable, candidates must make no mistakes in filling the form. There is no option to edit the CAT application form apart from a few fields like – photo, signature and test city. If you have entered a personal or academic information that is incorrect or invalid and submitted the form, you cannot edit it. You will have to fill a fresh form and pay the fees again.

Q:   What is the fee for MBA in CMR University?

A:

The Management Quota fee for MBA (Dual Specialisation) course ranges between INR 5 Lacs and INR 6 lakh. The fee is the total of annual fee paid by the candidates every year. Aspirants are required to pay the course fee after completion of all the selection rounds to confirm their seats. The selection to MBA course is based on CAT, KMAT, Karnataka PGCET, CMRUAT, ATMA, etc. In case, a candidate is unable to pay the fee within the specified time, his or her admission will stand cancelled.   • The minimum eligibility criteria for CAT exam is graduation with atleast 50 per cent aggregate or equivalent degree from a university recognised by the UGC.

There is no age limit to appear for CAT. The CAT exam is open for fresh graduates as well as working professionals. Since CAT is accepted by over 1300 B-schools across India for their full-time as well as executive MBA or online professional courses, a lot of working professionals appear for the CAT to pursue such courses. CAT score is accepted by Iims for full time MBA, executive MBA and FPM programmes. Other top MBA colleges in India also shortlist candidates for executive MBA or part-time MBA on the basis of CAT score. The minimum age limit for has to be 20 years as the minimum qualification for CAT exam graduation. Any candidate who has completed Graduation with 50 per cent aggregate (45 per cent for SC/ST candidates). Any candidate in final year of Bachelor's degree course can appear in CAT exam. Q:   I am in the final year of my Bachelor's degree. Am I eligible to take the CAT exam?

A:
Yes, you are eligible to appear for the exam provided your score in the first two years of the degree course is above 50 per cent aggregate (or equivalent). In case you belong to Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe and Person with Disability categories, the minimum aggregate should be 45 per cent. Candidates planning to pursue MBA must make sure that they score minimum of 50 per cent in aggregate in every year of their Bachelor's degree programme, so that overall average too is 50 per cent. Those, in the final year of graduation must take care that if they do not have a minimum of 50 per cent in first two years, they need to score much higher in the final year so that their overall score meets the minimum requirement. To have a better chance of being selected by the Iims, candidates must aim for high scores in graduation and not just 50 per cent as academic record is a significant contributor in shortlisting of candidates for admission.

Q:   Can I appear for CAT on the basis of my M.Com percentage?

A:
No, you cannot appear for the Common Admission Test CAT on the basis of your M.Com percentage. CAT is an entrance exam conducted by the Indian Institutes of Management (Iims) for admission to their MBA programs and other participating management institutes. To be eligible for CAT a candidate must have a Bachelor's degree with at least 50% marks or equivalent CGPA (45% for SC/ST/PWD candidates) from a recognised university or educational institution. Therefore, to appear for CAT you need to have a Bachelor's degree in any discipline. While your M.Com percentage may be an indicator of your academic abilities, it is not considered for eligibility purposes for CAT. However, if you have completed your Bachelor's degree and meet the other eligibility criteria, you can apply for CAT and use your CAT score to apply for admission to MBA programs offered by Iims and other participating institutes.

Documents Required for CAT 2024 Application Form

Candidates have to mention personal as well as academic details in the CAT application form 2024. So, before filling the CAT form, candidates must keep the following documents by their side to mention accurate personal and academic details in it:

What are the Documents to Upload with CAT Form?

Candidates have to upload certain documents with the CAT form. Given below are the details of the documents to be uploaded in the CAT application form 2024. Forms uploaded without these documents will be rejected.

Scanned Passport Size Photograph

The photo should be recent, not more than six months old. The photo should be within the dimensions of 1200 pixels x 1200 pixels and in .jpg or .jpeg format. The resolution must not be more than 80 KB and less than 150 px/inch in resolution.

Scanned Signature

The signature must be within the dimensions of 80mm X 35mm and in .jpg or .jpeg. It should be clear and on white background. The signature should not be more than 80 KB and less than 150 px/inch in resolution.

NC-OBC/SC/ST Certificate

If you belong to NC-OBC, SC or ST category, you will have to download the caste certificate from the CAT website, enter the required information, self-attest it and upload its scanned copy as a PDF document.

PwD Certificate

If you belong to PwD category, you are required to download the PwD certificate from the CAT website, fill it, self-attest it and upload its scanned copy as PDF document.

Final Year Certificate 

Candidates who are in the final year of their bachelor's degree programme are required to upload the Final year certificate from the Principal, HoD, Registrar or Director certifying the applicant has obtained at least 50% marks (45% in case of SC/ST/PWD candidates) or equivalent based on latest available grades/marks on College/Institution’s letterhead. The certificate format can be downloaded from the IIMCAT website.

CAT 2024 Application Process: Selection of Test Cities

At the time of filling the CAT form, candidates can mention preferred test location by selecting up to five options from the list of 170 cities. However, allotment of the CAT test city will be subject to availability of seats at the centre. The exam city and centre will be mentioned on candidate's CAT admit card 2024. The option to change the test city is given only once after form submission, during the CAT form correction process. Candidates must select CAT test cities with utmost care. 

Test centre and city allotment will be mentioned in the CAT 2024 admit card only and there will be no provision to change it. Thus, candidates should make sure they choose their home city or the closest one to their current location.

Q:   What is the process to select CAT test city for exam centre allotment?

A:

There are over 170 cities where CAT exam is held. These 170 cities are spread across India consist of metropolitan cities, capital cities, Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities. Candidate can select up to five cities for allotment of test centre. The process of test city selection is a part of CAT application process. In the CAT application form, there is a field in which candidates have to select the cities. They need to select the city of preference in order of 1 to 5. The examination authorities will try to allot the test centre in the city of first preference. Thus, candidates must fill all the five cities carefully. They must choose their home city of city of current residence as the first preference. The test city option can only be changed during the form correction window. After that, the request for change of the city will not be accepted by the exam authorities.

CAT Exam Registration 2024: Things to Keep in Mind

  • The preferred web browsers to fill CAT 2024 application form are Edge Chromium or Mozilla Firefox (version 56 and above) and Google Chrome (version 59 and above) 
  • Do not fill the CAT application form on a smart phone. Use a laptop or a desktop for filling the application form.
  • Cross-check all the information filled in the CAT application form thoroughly before hitting ‘submit/save key’.
  • Once submitted, the form cannot be edited. You will have to create a new login ID, fill the form and pay the fee again.
  • Save a copy of CAT application fee acknowledgment slip and a copy of duly filled application form for future reference.
  • Preserve the CAT registration confirmation mail until the end of MBA admission process. It is advisable to take a printout of the confirmation mail.

CAT 2024 Registrations: Instructions for Reserved Category Students

  • Candidates who wish to apply under Reserved category must strictly follow the instructions mentioned specifically for such candidates.
  • Such candidates may have to upload relevant certificates attested by competent authority. Candidates must the check the requirements carefully. 
  • To check Caste/Tribe name applicable, you can check the National Commission for Backward Classes (NCBC) website: http://www.ncbc.nic.in/Home.aspx.
  • Submission of Resaved category form along with the exam form is mandatory. Download the EWS, NC-OBC, SC/ST Certificate from the CAT 2024 official website, fill and self-attest, scan as PDF document and upload on the CAT website.
  • If you are applying under Person with Disability (PwD) category, download the Person with Disability (PwD) Certificate from the CAT website, enter the required information and self-attest, and scan as PDF document to upload the certificates on the CAT website.
  • Do not forget to select details under PwD Category - Wheelchair Support and Scribe Requirement, in the CAT application form 2024.
  • If you will be taking assistance of a Scribe for appearing in the exam, fill the Scribe Affidavit form available on the CAT exam registration website before the deadline and arrange a scribe yourself.

CAT Application Process: Errors to Avoid

Most of the fields of CAT 2024 application form can be edited only before final submission. The CAT form correction window gives opportunity to edit only a few fields, so it is better to fill the form error free in the first attempt. Check below a few points to avoid errors in CAT form 2024:

  • Use a functional email ID and mobile phone number for CAT 2024 registration as all the communication will be done on email and mobile.
  • Select CAT test city carefully as once the exam centre is allotted, no request for change will be entertained.
  • Choose your current city as first preference for allotment of exam centre. Keep in mind your convenience of reaching the test centre on the exam day, before selecting five cities in order of 1 to 5.
  • Select IIMs carefully as you will be eligible for WAT-PI of only those IIMs which you shall have selected in the CAT application form.
  • Select IIM interview cities also carefully. Only two options are available for each IIM so make the selection as per your convenience.
  • Enter accurate academic scores for class 10, 12, Graduation. Also, make sure you furnish information of PG or professional degree as the IIMs will refer to CAT application forms for candidate’s academic record for WAT-PI shortlisting.
  • Enter work experience details carefully too, as it will be analysed by the IIMs for shortlisting students for WAT-PI.
  • Upload valid caste/PwD/Scribe certificates along with the CAT application form. If the certificates turn out to be fake, candidates may be barred from appearing in the exam.
  • Ensure that fee payment is successful and you receive the acknowledgement in email. If the fee payment is not successful, the form submission will remain incomplete and CAT admit card will not be issued.

Q:   Which documents are required for filling CAT application form?

Candidates need the following documents while filling the CAT application form:

  • A recent passport size photo (color against white background)
  • Scanned signature with black pen on white paper
  • Any photo ID card like PAN card, Aadhaar Card, Voter ID, Passport 
  • Class 10 marksheet 
  • Class 12 marksheet 
  • Graduation marksheet 
  • Permanent address proof 
  • Work experience documents Reserved category students need to upload Category Certificate along with the CAT application form. The Certificate is available on the CAT website. Candidates can download, fill it, get it attested by competent authority and upload it as PDF with the CAT application form. 
  • The PwD category students also have to fill the PwD form and Scribe affidavit along with the exam application form. This is necessary for getting scribe facility and PwD facility at the test centre. The CAT application form is same for students from all categories. Those belonging to a particular category (SC/ST/PwD) will be required to mention it in the relevant field of the CAT form.

Q:   Can I edit my CAT application form after submission?

A:
Once the CAT application form is submitted, candidates are not allowed to make changes in it. In case, you've made errors, you need to fill a fresh CAT application form and pay the fees again. However, editing of certain fields such as photo, signature and test city preference is allowed during form correction process which starts 2-3 days after the CAT registration process concludes. The form correction window is opened for 3-4 days during which candidates can edit only these three fields. If they have made a mistake in any other field, they cannot edit it. No request for changes is accepted by the examination authorities. Thus, it is very important to fill the CAT application form correctly with valid details. Candidates must keep the important documents such as Aadhaar card, class 10, class 12, graduation certificates, birth Certificate address proof, work experience documents, etc. To cross check the information while filling the form. They must also be very careful in selecting Iims and courses as they will be eligible for only those Iims and courses which they shall have selected in the CAT form.

CAT (Common Admission Test) is a national-level management entrance examination conducted by the Indian Institutes of Management (Iims) for admission to their postgraduate management programs. The eligibility criteria for CAT are as follows: Educational Qualification: Candidates must have a Bachelor's degree in any discipline from a recognised university or institute. The minimum percentage required varies from institute to institute. Age Limit: There is no age limit for appearing in the CAT exam. Citizenship: Candidates must be citizens of India. NRIs and foreign nationals can also apply for the exam. Reservation Criteria: The reservation criteria for CAT are as per the regulations of the Government of India. Q:   Where can I get CAT 2024 registration link? What information is to be filled in the form?

CAT registration cum application form link is activated at iimcat.ac.in.in website. The CAT 2024 registration link was made live on August 1, 2024.. Candidates will have to open this url: iimcat.ac.in to register for CAT 2024 and fill the application form before the registration deadline (September 13, 2024). The CAT application process includes uploading of relevant documents and payment of fees, without which the application will not be submitted. There will be six sections in CAT application form which candidates will be required to fill. They are - personal details, academic details, work experience, programmes, test city and fee payment. 

In Personal Details section, the candidates will have to enter details such as name, date of birth, father's name, category, gender, nationality, communication address, email ID, mobile phone number, etc.

In Academic Details section of the form, candidates have to enter class 10 and 12 exam scores, Bachelor's degree details and marksheet and details of other professional courses (if any).

In Work Experience section, candidates have to fill relevant work-experience if any, they need to fill in details such as name of the company, duration, etc.

In the programmes section, applicants have to select IIMs and MBA programmes of their choice. In the test city section candidates have to select test city for allotment of exam centre. Candidates can select up to six cities from the given list.

In the payment section, candidates have to pay the registration fee via Credit/Debit Card, Internet Banking or Paytm/PayU mobile wallets.

Q:   Am I eligible to appear in CAT after completing my graduation from School of Open Learning, DU?

A:
Yes, you are eligible to appear in the Common Admission Test CAT after completing your graduation from the School of Open Learning, Delhi University (DU), provided you meet the other eligibility criteria set by the conducting authority. To be eligible for CAT a candidate must have a Bachelor's degree with at least 50% marks or equivalent CGPA (45% for SC/ST/PWD candidates) from a recognised university or educational institution. There is no restriction on the type of Bachelor's degree or the discipline in which it is obtained. Therefore, if you have completed your graduation from SOL, DU, with at least 50% marks or equivalent CGPA, you can apply for CAT. However, it is important to note that admission to the MBA programme offered by the Iims and other participating institutes is based on a rigorous selection process that includes CAT score, academic performance, work experience (if any), and other criteria specified by the respective institutes.
