Q: Does IRMA have a sectional cut off for CAT?
Yes, IRMA have a sectional cutoff for CAT. The CAT exam has three sections - Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension, Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning and Quantitative Aptitude. Among these three sections, Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension has the maximum weightage of 24 questions and 72 marks. IRMA cutoff 2023 is yet to release for MBA admission. Q: What is the syllabus & exam pattern of IRMA?
Admission into Post Graduate Diploma in Rural Management at IRMA is a three-stage process:
(a) Stage I: CAT or XAT or CMAT score
(b) Stage II: Group Activity & Personal Interview
(d) Stage III: Selection based on CAT/XAT/CMAT: 35%, Personal Interview: 35%, WAT: 5%, Academic Performance: 5%
CAT, CMAT and XAT have a predefined syllabus. CAT tests candidates general aptitude including verbal ability (English), quantitative ability (Mathematics), logical reasoning and data interpretation skills. XAT syllabus consists of English, Quantitative Aptitude, Logical Reasoning, Data Interpretation, Decision Making, General Awareness and Essay Writing. Every candidate who is an aspirant for admission in PGDRM at IRMA earlier, had to undergo IRMA Social Awareness Test (IRMASAT). IRMASAT was a compulsory online test to assess awareness about issues of social concern. From 2022 onwards, IRMASAT was scrapped and the admissions to IRMA are now being done on the basis of CAT, XAT and CMAT scores.
IRMASAT 2025: Eligibility Criteria (PGDRM)
The detailed IRMASAT 2025 eligibility criteria is given below:
Eligibility Criteria for Domestic Candidates:
- Candidates applying for the PGDRM programme must be a graduate in any discipline from a university that is state or centrally-recognised.
- Candidates must have scored at least 50 per cent aggregate or equivalent CGPA. This aggregate is 45 per cent for SC/ ST/ DAP.
- Candidates in their final year of the examination are also eligible for the IRMASAT 2025. They are required to submit proof of qualifying the final year by September 2025, failing which their candidature will be cancelled.
- Candidates must have scored 85 percentile or above in CAT 2024, XAT 2025 or CMAT 2025. These candidates will be eligible for getting shortlisted for Merit-based Calls.
- Candidates must have scored 80 percentile or above in CAT 2024, XAT 2025 or CMAT 2025 and should fulfil the Profile-based Call criteria as mentioned above.
Eligibility Criteria for Foreign Candidates:
- The candidate must be a Graduate in any stream with at least 50% aggregate or equivalent from a recognised university.
- They must have appeared in GMAT/GRE (from 2016 onwards) and have a score that meets the minimum cut off criteria set by IRMA.
- Foreign candidates do not have to appear in IRMASAT, but they will be required to participate in Group Activity and Personal Interview round.
Eligibility Criteria for Sponsored Candidates:
- The candidate must hold a Bachelor's degree, in any discipline, from a recognised university/institution.
- The candidate should have worked with the sponsoring organization for a minimum of two years (as of July 1, 2025) as a regular employee on a full-time basis.
- The sponsoring organization should be willing to grant uninterrupted leave to the applicant (if selected) for the period of study at IRMA.
- The sponsoring organization should undertake to make arrangements for payment of fee and other dues of the applicant to IRMA.
- If rejoining within three years for completing the second year of the programme to obtain a “PGDRM”, she/he must be working with the same organisation that sponsored her/him for the CRM and she/he needs to acquire a “NO OBJECTION CERTIFICATE (NOC)” from it.
- There is no age limit to appear for IRMASAT.
Qualifying Marks
Qualifying marks for IRMASAT 2025 are mentioned below:
- Candidates who score above 80 percentile in CAT 2024, XAT 2025 or CMAT 2025 and fall in the Profile-cum-merit based call criteria will be eligible to be shortlisted for IRMASAT 2025 and GA/PI process
- Candidates who score above 85 percentile in CAT 2024, XAT 2025 or CMAT 2025 and fall in the Merit-based call criteria are eligible to be shortlisted for IRMASAT 2025 and GA/PI process
- Both IRMASAT 2025 and GA/PI process will be conducted online this year for shortlisted candidates. Earlier the GA/PI process used to be conducted at the IRMA campus.

There are different exams through which students can get admission in IRMA Anand. Admission Process for IRMASAT 2025
The IRMA admission process includes six steps:
- STEP 1: IRMASAT 2025 registration
To register for IRMASAT 2025, the candidate is required to create a login ID on the official website of IRMA by furnishing basic personal details such as name, date of birth, email ID and phone number.
- STEP 2: Filling IRMASAT 2025 application form
Once the candidate has successfully created a login ID for IRMASAT 2025, he/she can log in on the IRMA website and fill the online application form. The IRMASAT application process will be complete only after the payment of the application fee.
- STEP 3: Payment of application fees
The IRMASAT application fee can be paid online through credit card/debit card or net banking. IRMASAT 2025 application fee is INR 2,000 for General category candidates. Candidates belonging to the reserved category have a 50% fee concession.
- STEP 4: IRMASAT 2025 admit card
IRMASAT 2025 admit cards is released for download on the official IRMA website from the scheduled date notified in the admission calendar. The candidates must carry their IRMASAT admit cards to the exam hall and also keep them safe till the end of the admission process.
- STEP 5: IRMASAT 2025 exam
IRMA test or IRMASAT is usually conducted in the computer-based test mode. In 2022, the IRMASAT exam was not conducted and the students were required to appear for the Written Ability Test and Personal Interview. In 2025, the selection criteria will be the same.
- STEP 6: IRMASAT 2025 result
The IRMASAT result is announced online. The candidates can check their scores on the official website by using their PIDs. After the result is declared, selected candidates will be invited for Personal Interviews and Group Activity rounds. Candidates failing to appear in this round will lose the chance of securing a seat in the institute.
Q: Do any of the IIMs accept IRMASAT?
No, IIMs do not accept IRMASAT scores for admission to their management programmes. IIMs have their own separate entrance exam, CAT (Common Admission Test) which is used for admission to MBA and other post graduate management programmes. IRMASAT, is only accept by the Institute of Rural Management Anand (IRMA) specifically for admission to its postgraduate programme in rural management. IRMA is an institute which has its focus on rural and development management.
Candidates who wish to take admission to any IIMs, they need to appear for the CAT exam and meet the eligibility criteria set by the IIMs.

The final selection of students to IRMA Anand's Post Graduate Diploma in Management (Rural Management) course is based on the entrance exam scores and candidates' performance in GA and PI rounds. The entrance exams accepted include XAT/ CAT/ CMAT. The eligibility criteria for admissions is that candidate should have passed graduation with a minimum of 50% aggregate. IRMASAT 2025: Exam Centres
IRMASAT 2025 and Group Activity-Personal Interviews (GA-PI) were conducted offline this year. In an official announcement, IRMA notified that both the GA and Personal Interview (GA-PI) will be held offline. Shortlisted candidates will be called for the next round of selection, where they will be required to appear for a GA on the day of their Personal Interview. The candidate had to talk for about 2-5 minutes on a given topic. It is designed to evaluate a candidate's rural aptitude as well as written communication skills. NRI candidates are shortlisted for an Online Personal Interview (OPI) based on their GMAT (taken on or after January 2020) / CAT2024 / XAT2025 / CMAT 2025 scores for PGDM (RM) 2025-27. Personal Interview (PI) will be conducted during the third week of March 2025.
Final selection is done based on GMAT scores (taken on or after January 2020) / CAT2024 / XAT2025 / CMAT 2025 scores and PI scores. The marks obtained in the GMAT (taken on or after January 2020) / CAT2024 / XAT2025 / CMAT 2025 test and the marks obtained in PI is reduced to the equivalent marks of 60 and 40 respectively. An overall merit list is prepared based on the total marks obtained out of these 100 marks.

IRMASAT centre details will be mentioned on the admit card issued to the candidates before the Personal Interview date. The PI will be held offline, hence, the candidates should visit the centre at Anand at least an hour before the exam begins.
