LUMET Pattern 2025: Know Marking Scheme & Exam Duration

LUMET has 100 questions in total. The time limit is 90 minutes, thus it is not possible to solve all 100 questions. Candidates must aim to solve a minimum of 78-80 questions correctly to get a good score. They should leave out questions which they find tough or are unsure of the correct answer.

LUMET questions are of easy to moderate difficulty level. They are very straightforward and not very lengthy or tricky. However, candidates need to keep in mind that they will get about 100 questions from four subjects to solve in 90 minutes. They should have good speed in solving the questions to be able to score high.

All the sections of LUMET, i.e. General Awareness, Quantitative Ability, Data Interpretation & Logical Reasoning and English Verbal Ability & Comprehension, have equal weightage. Every section carries 25 questions and 50 marks. Thus, candidates must ensure that they solve a good number of questions in every section for an overall good score.

No, there is no sectional time limit in LUMET. Candidates have to complete the test in 90 minutes. They can divide this duration between the four sections as per their convenience or strategy. However, they must note that they should solve a good enough number of questions in all the sections to get a good overall score.

The total time duration of LUMET exam is 90 minutes without break. Candidates have to solve 100 questions from General Awareness, Quantitative Ability, Data Interpretation & Logical Reasoning and English Verbal Ability & Comprehension within 90 minutes.

Candidates can study CAT books for Quantitative Aptitude, Logical Reasoning & Data Interpretation and Verbal Ability & Reading Comprehension to cover LUMET syllabus and practice previous year LUMET question papers for exam specific preparation. 

The important topics of LUMET Quantitative Ability syllabus includes Arithmetic, Algebra, Geometry, Trigonometry, Mensuration and Modern Maths. Candidates must study all the important sub topics from these topics and practice enough number of sample questions.

Yes, LUMET syllabus similar to CAT or CMAT syllabus. It includes same topics of Quantitative Ability, Data Interpretation, Logical Reasoning and Language Comprehension. Candidates can prepare for LUMET with CAT study material. Since, LUMET is much easier that CAT or CMAT, candidates can easily crack it by studying the books for CAT.

A fresher can complete LUMET syllabus in three to four months whereas a candidate who has appeared for LUMET or any other MBA entrance exam before can complete the syllabus in lesser time. The syllabus of LUMET is same as other MBA entrance exams, so you will not face any problem in covering it as books are study material are available in abundance.

The important topics of General Awareness section of LUMET includes static GK and current affairs. Candidates must study history, arts, science, technology, business, politics, international events, awards, inventions, sports, geography, etc. They can refer to GK Year books for preparation of this section. 

The important topics of LUMET English Verbal Ability & Comprehension syllabus include verbal ability, vocabulary, English grammar and reading comprehension. Candidates must pay special attention on reading comprehension and vocabulary.

The important topics of LUMET Data Interpretation & Logical Reasoning syllabus include tables, graphs, charts, venn diagram, sets, relationships, coding-decoding, visual reasoning, verbal reasoning, problem solving, series, seating arrangement, etc.
