Q:   Is the MH-CET MBA easier than the CAT?

A:
Yes, as compared to the CAT exam, the MH-CET MBA exam is easier. The reasons behind this are: 1. The MH-CET MBA has less competition than the CAT which is a state-level exam. 2. There is no negative marking in the MH-CET MBA exam, unlike the CAT exam. 3. The exam duration is longer in the MH-CET than the CAT. 4. The nature of the questions in the Quantitative Aptitude and reasoning section is also easier in the MH-CET than the CAT. Aside from these differences, the syllabus is the same in both exams; only the MH-CET MBA question pattern differs from the CAT.

A:

It is tough to say that as there is no set pattern of sectional weightage in MAH CET anymore. Since the last two years, the number of questions for each section of the exam, varies for every slot. Meaning that, if in one slot there are 75 questions on LR and 25 AR, in the second slot there can be 60 questions on LR and 40 questions on AR. Similarly, there could be 50 questions on QA in one slot but in the next slot it could be 40. The total number of questions remain 200 in all the slots but the sectional weightage changes. So, one can really not prepare for the exam with the target of scoring maximum in a particular section. They need to prepare for all sections as any section can have maximum questions and the potential to score maximum.

A:

The Logical Reasoning section of MBA CET has the maximum weightage. This section carries 75 marks and Abstract Reasoning section carries 25 marks. MAH MBA CET Preparation

MAH CET is an easy to moderate difficulty level exam and its preparation is not very difficult or time taking. If a candidate has appeared for any other MBA entrance exam, then he/she can prepare for MAH MBA CET 2025 easily. However, to be well prepared for the exam, one still needs to follow a proper MAH MBA CET specific preparation plan. About six months are required to prepare for it from scratch.

MAH CET MBA question paper has 200 questions in MCQ format. The number of questions per section varies for every session but Logical Reasoning dominates this test. So, the key is to thoroughly prepare Logical and Abstract Reasoning topics. Quantitative Aptitude syllabus includes familiar topics and so does VARC or English section. There can be trick questions in MAH CET which makes it challenging. For handling such questions, previous years' MBA CET papers and sample question banks are the best resource of preparation.

Given below are some articles that provide exam strategy and tips on how to prepare for MAH CET MBA exam 2025.

Q:   When should I start practicing MBA CET mock test?

A:

Candidates should start practicing MBA CET mock test about two months before the exam after they have completed the syllabus so that they can practice about 25-30 of them with a gap of one day. It is important to practice the mock tests only after they have completed the syllabus because they will be better equipped to solve various types of questions from the subjects included and it will be more helpful in analyzing one’s own preparation level. Those who have appeared in CAT, XAT, SNAP, and NMAT can start solving MBA CET mock tests early on as they will be already familiar with the main topics included in the syllabus. After every mock test, the candidate must check their score, number of correct questions, and number of incorrect questions. They should note down the topics from which questions posed a challenge so that they can study those topics again.

Q:   How do I prepare for the quant section of the MAH MBA CET?

A:
The pattern of the Quant section of MBA CET 20 exam is as follows DI - 18 marks Maths - 13 marks Quant Comparison (Quadratic Equation) - 4 marks Quant Comparison (Arithmetic) - 5 marks Calculations - 5 marks Number Series - 5 marks This is a tentative paper pattern and there was variation in different slots. Based on the above the focus of preparation for Quant section for CET has to be DI. Which usually has weightage ranging from 18 to 24 marks in recent exams. There is limited type of DI questions (unlike Maths and can be easily improved with practice. Similar logic holds true for Quantitative comparison and Calculations. With limited practice there can be immense improvement in these areas. Number series can also be improved with practice. There are tough number series questions in the exam, but 4/5 questions can be cracked with practice. So the focus should be these 37 questions Maths has 13 questions. But the problem is that the syllabus is vast and no matter how much you practice, you will still have questions that you may find that you are not able to solve. I would recommend that students who find Maths difficult should focus on other areas of Quant section and other sections as in the exam you may not have time to solve the Quant section and it may take time. For students who are average or comfortable with Maths can focus on Arithmetic section (Average, Percentage, P&L, Interest, Ratio, TSD, Work, etc. ). As 10/13 questions were from these topics. Now this is based on CET20 pattern. There is variation every year.

Q:   What are the topics from which Quantitative Aptitude questions are asked in MAH CET?

A:

The MAH MBA CET Quantitative Aptitude is a moderately difficult section. The topics from which the questions are asked include Geometry, Trigonometry, Algebra, Mensuration, Partnership (Accounts), Profit and Loss, Mean, mode, median, Ratio and Proportion, In-Equations, Quadratic and Linear equations, Surds and Indices, Time-Speed-Distance, Number System, Geometric Progression, Binomial theorem, Inequalities, Work and Time, Percentage, Logarithms, Square Root and Cube Root, Probability and Simple Interest and Compound Interest.

This section also contains topics from data interpretation and data sufficiency. Normally, there are two sets of data interpretation questions based on a graph, table or pie chart. Most of the questions however are from Quantitative Aptitude, specifically Arithmetic. Aspirants must dedicate about 2-3 months to this section for complete preparation. They need to be thorough with all the concepts and have enough practice of various types of questions.

Q:   Which college can I get in Maharashtra for MBA with 59.23%ile in MAH-CET?

A:

This percentile in MAH-CET, as an open category student from outside Maharashtra, will not be probable as most top MBA colleges within the state ask for 85–90% and above. Even with your current score, it is going to be really tough to get you into a good college. Take the MAH-CET again or look for other MBA entrance exams like CAT, XAT, or MAT. Better preparation and a higher score next year will surely give you a better shot at a reputable institution. All the very best with your efforts!

Q:   Do candidates get rejected in GD/PI round even after scoring 99.91 in MAH CET in colleges like JBIMS and SIMSREE?

A:

Yes, candidates can get rejected in the GD/PI round even after scoring 99.91 in MAH CET in colleges like JBIMS. The GD/PI round is an important part of the MBA selection process, and it is used to assess a candidates communication skills, leadership potential, and overall stability for the program. • Overall stability for the program: The GD/PI round is also used to assess a candidates overall stability for the MBA program. Candidates need to be able to demonstrate that they are interested in a career in management, and that they have the skills and qualities that are required for success in the program.

If you are planning to apply for an MBA program, it is important to prepare for the GD/PI round. You can do this by practicing your communication skills, developing your leadership skills, and learning about the MBA programme that you are interested in.
