Government of India approved the setting up of IIM, Udaipur in 2009. However, this institute was officially inaugurated in 2011. IIMU had shifted its permanent campus to the Balicha area of Udaipur as allocated by the state government in 2016.

2. Malaviya National Institute of Technology, Jaipur

This college was established in 1963 with the name Malaviya Regional Engineering College, Jaipur, as a joint venture between the state and the Central government.
