Q:   What is the syllabus for TSICET exam?

TS ICET exam comprises questions from several topics based on three sections. These three sections include - Analytical Ability - Mathematical Ability - Communication Ability Analytical and Mathematical ability sections have 75 questions each. On the contrary, the Communication Ability section has 50 questions. TS ICET syllabus is similar to syllabus of any other MBA entrance exam. Analytical Ability section syllabus is similar to DILR syllabus of CAT. Mathematical Ability section syllabus is similar to Quantitative Aptitude section syllabus of CAT. TS ICET 2024 Syllabus: Section-wise List of Topics

The TS ICET question paper carries 200 multiple-choice questions to be solved in 150 minutes. Check the topics mentioned in detail from each of these sections below:

TS ICET Syllabus for Analytical Ability

Analytical Ability will assess a candidate's critical-thinking skills and his ability to break down a problem. This section is one of the similar lines as that of the Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning (DILR) section of other MBA entrance exams. This section has further been divided into sub-sections:

Data Sufficiency

Under this section, questions are given in the form of data, this will be followed by answers in the form of statements. Test takers need to decide whether a certain set of statements is sufficient to answer the question.

Problem Solving

The Problem-Solving section will have questions from Sequences and Series, Data Analysis, Coding and Decoding Problems, Date, Time and Arrangement Problems.

A:
Mathematical Ability section and the Analytical Ability section of TSICET exam has an equal question and marks weightage. The Communication Ability section of the TSICET exam has the least number of questions, I. e. 50. While the other two sections have 75 questions each. Kakatiya University has divided all the three sections of the exam into sub sections. Problem Solving sub section under Analytical Ability has the maximum number of questions, I. e. 55. Candidates must prepare for the TSICET exam keeping the weightage in mind to fetch the best results.

The Communication Ability section of the TSICET exam has four sub-sections. These sub-sections compile to fetch 50 questions. The division of topics with weightage under the Communication Ability is as follows:

  • Vocabulary: 10

  • Functional Grammar: 15
  • Reading Comprehension: 15

With respect to the question weight, 60 per cent of the questions in the Communication Ability section are based on Functional Grammar and Reading Comprehension. While the remaining 40 per cent is fetched by questions on Vocabulary and Business and Computer Terminology.

Mathematical Ability section of TSICET exam is divided into three sub sections, namely Arithmetical Ability, Algebraical and Geometrical Ability and Statistical Ability. These sections have a question weightage of 35:30:10. Some of the important topics included in all these sub sections are Statements and Truth Tables, Areas and Volumes, Powers and Exponents, Relations and Functions Surds, LCM and GDC, Modular Arithmetic and Partnership. TS ICET Exam Preparation 2025

Q:   What is the duration of TSICET exam? How much time should I consume to answer each question to complete on time?

A:
The exam duration of TSICET exam is 150 minutes. Candidates need to answer as many as 200 questions across three sections within 150 minutes. These 150 minutes compiles the time to read a question, solve it, and answer the same on the computer. To answer 200 questions within 150 minutes, test taker must read the question, solve, answer and review the response in 45 seconds to complete the exam on time. Therefore, it is necessary for the test takers to leave the questions that may consume a large chunk of the time for the last. Attempting lengthy questions at first may lead the test takers to leave the questions that they may have known answers for.

The Communication Ability section of the TSICET exam is considered the easiest section among all the sections. Q:   When to start preparing for the TSICET exam?

A:
TSICET preparation must take at least two months of time if the candidate has already prepared for any other MBA entrance exam. However, if the candidate is starting the MBA prep journey with the TSICET exam, then the ideal time for preparation must be at least six months before the exam date. Candidates aspiring to qualify for Telangana MBA Admission must pass the TSICET exam. Candidates starting early to prepare for the TSICET exam will have time to prepare at ease. At the start of the preparation plan, candidates must go through the TSICET syllabus and exam pattern. The second step must involve the candidates in analysing their weaknesses and strengths. The later stage of the preparation must include the candidate in preparing a comprehensive study plan with the section-wise division of their time.

Q:   Are CAT books useful to prepare for TSICET exam?

A:
TSICET exam and CAT exam are conducted for MBA Admission. While TSICET exam is conducted for admission to colleges in Telangana, CAT is conducted for national level admission. TSICET syllabus is similar to CAT syllabus. All three sections included in the TSICET exam have a place in the CAT syllabus. Although CAT is highly competitive, candidates can use CAT books to prepare for TSICET exam as well.
