Maharashtra NEET PG 2024 Counselling: Round 3 Provisional State Merit List (Out), Seat Allotment (Postponed), Registration & Choice Filling (Over)

As per the last year's data, there were as many as 4,784 MD, MS, and PG Diploma seats across medical and dental colleges in Maharashtra. The course-wise segregation of seats will be available once the Directorate of Technical Education (DTE) Maharashtra releases the seat matrix for the Maharashtra NEET PG counselling. 

All postgraduate medical and dental courses, including Diploma courses are offered through the Maharashtra NEET PG counselling. The list of courses are given below:

• Master of Surgery (MS)
• Doctor of Medicine (MD)
• Master of Dental Surgery
• Post Graduate Diploma in Medicine 

Maharashtra NEET PG counselling process is conducted by the Directorate of Technical Education (DTE) Maharashtra. The state counselling authority for Maharashtra conducts the admission process for postgraduate medical and dental courses offered in the state under the 50 per cent State Quota seats. Candidates who qualify for the NEET PG and NEET MDS exams are eligible to participate in this state counselling. Maharashtra NEET PG counselling 2024 is the gateway to admission to courses such as MD, MS and MDS. 

The Directorate of Technical Education (DTE) Maharashtra released the Maharashtra NEET PG counselling dates for 2024 on September 27, 2024. At present, Round 3 of Maharashtra NEET PG 2024 counselling registration is underway from January 15, 2025, and the last date has been extended from January 23 to January 28, 2025. The last date of Maharashtra NEET PG counselling registration for Round 1 was October 16, 2024, and the registration fee had to be paid by October 17, 2024. The last date was postponed multiple times owing to the revision of the NEET PG 2024 counselling Round 3 dates. Generally, the last date of Maharashtra NEET PG registration is scheduled three to four days of the commencement of the registration process. 

The total duration of the Maharashtra NEET PG counselling 2024 is likely to range for three to four months. It is estimated that there will be around three rounds of counselling for Maharashtra NEET PG counselling 2024. The duration of each round will be approximately 15 to 20 days, starting from registration to institute reporting. The total duration or rounds of Maharashtra NEET PG counselling process will depend on the seat vacancies. The Maharashtra NEET PG counselling process had commenced on September 27, 2024, with the registration process, and concluded on October 17, 2024. After that the first round seat matrix and merit list are scheduled to be released on November 21 and November 22, 2024, respectively. As of now, the dates for three rounds of Maharashtra NEET PG counselling 2024 has been announced, which is scheduled till January 20, 2025. 

The Maha CET Cell announced the Maharashtra NEET PG 2024 counselling schedule on September 27, 2024, for the Round 1. The complete schedule for the first three rounds of Maharashtra NEET PG counselling 2024 were released on November 14, 2024. However, the Maharashtra NEET PG 2024 counselling dates for Round 3 were postponed on account of the revision of NEET PG cutoff. The revised dates were released on January 14, 2025. 

The NEET PG 2024 exam was conducted on August 11, and the result was declared on August 23. Accordingly, the counselling process began in the fourth week of September 2024. The counselling authority will announce the schedule separately for each round. 

Yes, it is possible to participate in both Maharashtra NEET PG counselling as well as the national-level NEET PG or NEET MDS counselling process conducted by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC). However, in case a candidate is allotted a seat in either of the counsellings and he/she accepts the seat by institute reporting and document verification, then that candidate will not be eligible to participate in further rounds of counselling or the other counselling type. Hence, candidates must carefully assess the admission options and then take the final decision. 

For the Maharashtra NEET PG counselling process, the entrance exams which are accepted are NEET PG and NEET MDS. Candidates must ensure that they qualify for the exam as per the cutoff scores released by the exam authorities, in order to be eligible for the Maharashtra NEET PG counselling process. 

Yes, as per the eligibility criteria of the Maharashtra NEET PG counselling process, it is mandatory to qualify for the NEET PG or NEET MDS entrance exams. Apart from that, candidates must fulfill other eligibility criteria stated by the counselling authorities of Maharashtra NEET PG, which is the Directorate of Technical Education (DTE) Maharashtra in terms of the internship cutoff date, state domicile, etc. 

Eligible candidates willing to participate in the Maharashtra NEET PG counselling process will have to fill and lock the choice of seats based on the seat matrix. If a candidate fulfills the cutoff or admission criteria of the institute of their choice, they will be allotted the seats by the Maharashtra NEET PG counselling authority, DTE Maharashtra. The factors which are considered for the seat allotment are cutoff and availability of seats. In case a candidate is not satisfied with the allotted seat, he or she can opt for seat upgradation. 

The registration fee for Maharashtra NEET PG counselling 2023 was INR 3,000, irrespective of the category/caste of the applicant. The registration fee amount will be updated here in case there is a change in the Maharashtra NEET PG counselling 2024. The application fee has to be paid in online mode, via Credit Card, Debit Card or Net Banking. 

Candidates who are allotted seats in the Maharashtra NEET PG counselling, will have to present the following documents during the institute reporting or the document verification process.

Yes, it is mandatory to carry the original documents at the institute reporting process of the Maharashtra NEET PG counselling process. Although candidates can carry the photocopies as a backup, but during document verification, they will have to present the original documents.

Yes, Maharashtra NEET PG candidates will have to visit the allotted institute with the requisite documents and admission fee. The institutes' admission authorities will verify the documents and once candidates pay the admission fee, the admission offer will be confirmed. In case candidates wish to upgrade their seats or do not wish to join the institute need not report to the institute. 

The Maharashtra NEET PG counselling is conducted online. The registration and choice filling processes have to be conducted online. CET Cell Maharashtra will release the seat matrix and the merit list online, on the official website of Maharashtra NEET PG counselling. However, the final round or the institute reporting and document verification has to be done by physically visiting the institute.
