Frequently Asked Questions

Q:   How to get admission in PGI Chandigarh after class 12th?

A:

Students who have passed their HSC or Class 12 can apply for BSc courses at PGIMER Chandigarh. Applicants who fulfill the eligibility criteria become eligible for the CBT entrance test. Once the applicants have taken the test, the test scores are used to produce a rank list. Based on the rank list, the PGI Chandigarh prepares a cut off list.

Candidates who meet the eligible cut off are then invited for personal counselling rounds at the institute. Once the seats get allocated, candidates are required to pay the admission fee prescribed by the college in the stipulated timeframe. After successful payment, candidates must report to the institute according to the schedule given by the college. Successful reporting concludes the admission process.

Q:   Does PGIMER accept NEET score?

A:

As per resources and information availaible, the initial entrance exam which is accepted by PGIMER Chandigarh for admission is INI CET. There may be a chance that NEET-PG is also conisdered for admission but INI CET is the considered for admission to majority of the courses. Other than this, PGIMER also conducts its own entrance exam for admission to various courses. So basically you have to score a good marks in NEET PG. I repeat NEET PG it isn't NEET (UG) . PGIMER Chandigarh conducts its own entrance exam for admission to other UG, PG, and Doctoral courses. The total seat intake for M.Sc at PGIMER Chandigarh is 25 seats.

Q:   Which entrance exam scores are accepted by PGIMER for admission?

Our college provides a different way of leaning.
Placements: As it was a new course in the institute and no student was passed out. Masters of this course have a decent placement. It has a great scope in foreign countries and here in upcoming times.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure consists of world-class equipment for learning and well-air-conditioned classrooms are provided. Department of community medicine and the school of public health provide great facilities to the students.
Faculty: World-class teachers are available to solve your problems. A great learning experience is provided by the department with digital learning facilities. Exams are taken as in offline mode always no tolerance is there in any case.

Good infrastructure and facilities with highly skilled faculty, and bad placements in 2024.
Placements: Basically, there is no placement cell for our course. Only 26% of students got placed in a research project under department faculty. The average salary package offered in our course is not specified. Top recruiting companies or organisations for our course are WHO, NHM, DGHS, and Unicef. Our course is of 4 years of which 3 years are for academic studies and 1 year is for internships. Internships are provided by the department itself. Top roles offered in our course are epidemiologist, research associate, field worker, associate professor, and senior demonstrater in some academic departments of School of Public Health.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is good, but it can be better. Our department (DCM & SPH) contains classrooms for different years, a library, and Wi-Fi. The library is provided by the PGI Campus. Water and canteen facilities are also there. The quality of the hostel facilities is average. The quality of food is good, clean, and hygienic. Medical facilities are also provided to the students. The sports management team is also there. On an average, it is good.
Faculty: All professors and associate professors are highly qualified and knowledgeable. We have extremely knowledgeable and qualified teachers to help you in gaining your knowledge. The course curriculum is not very good. Our course is a new concept in India, it needs some kind of changes but the faculty and HOD itself take feedback from students to improve the quality of study and curriculum. There are no semester exams in this college. Annual exams are there, and I think annual exams are a better idea for students. The passing percentage is 50%.
Other: I chose this course as I want to be a field worker and get attached to the population at the field level to get to know their feedback so that the government can do better. The best thing about our course is that it fulfills my wishes and provides good exposure to the population. The curriculum needs to get better. As this course is new, the department should need to change by taking trips from foreign countries for this course. There are enough events and fests to relieve your mind. Everyone enjoys it a lot as our campus is in the hospital itself. It is much needed for a student.
