CBSE Board Exam 2024: Board allows Type 1 Diabetic Students to carry fruits; How to avail CBSE diabetic facility

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is all set to conduct CBSE Class 10, 12 board exams 2024 from February 15. With merely a week left for CBSE Board Exam 2024 to begin, the Board has released guidelines for diabetic type 1 students appearing for board exams.

CBSE Board Exam 2024 Class 10, 12: With merely a week left for CBSE Board Exam 2024 to begin, the Board has released guidelines for diabetic type 1 students appearing for board exams. The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is all set to conduct CBSE Class 10, 12 board exams 2024 from February 15. According to CBSE Date Sheet 2024, CBSE Class 10 board exams will end on March 13 and CBSE 12th exams 2024 will end on April 2.

CBSE Board Exam 2024 Diabetic Facilities Items allowed

As per the latest CBSE notice, students having Type 1 diabetes are permitted to carry the following items to examination hall in a transparent pouch box:

• Sugar tablets, Chocolate, Candy
• Fruits like Banana, Apple, Orange
• Snack items like Sandwich and any high protein diet
• Medicines require as per Doctor's prescription
• Water bottle (500 ml.)
• Glucometer and glucose testing strips
• Continuous Glucose Monitoring (CGM) machine, Flash Glucose Monitoring (FGM) machine and or insulin pumps

CBSE Board Exam 2024 SOPs for Diabetic Students

Students having Type 1 diabetes willing to avail the above facilities are required to provide information about Type-1 Diabetes during registration or submission of LOC.

CBSE Diabetes Facility: Documents Required

Students are required to upload the following documents on the portal to avail CBSE diabetes facility during board examinations:

• Recommendations of the Medical Specialist for CGM/FGM/Insulin pump during the examinations.

• Parent's undertaking that CGM/FGM/insulin pump is provided to the students and no way it is a communication device which may hamper the safety of the examinations.

• To avail of these facilities, the school/student/parent needs to apply as per the schedule issued by the CBSE. No request once the schedule is over will be entertained.

• School or student will approach the examination centre at least a day before the start of the examination and intimate the Centre Superintendent about the items to be carried by the students.

• Students must reach the school at least 45 minutes before the start of the examinations i.e., latest by 9:45 AM.

• All the applications/requests will be routed through the school with the prescribed documents. No direct request from the student to CBSE will be entertained.

• Except for equipment(s) attached to the body, the rest of the items will be kept with the Assistant Superintendent (Invigilator) in a transparent box/ pouch and could be taken by the students once they need it.

CBSE Board Exam 2024 Timings

The CBSE board exam 2024 Class 10, 12 timing is from 10:30 am to 1:30 pm. However, for some subjects, CBSE Board Exam 2024 will be conducted for a duration of two hours only till 12:30 pm. An extra 15 minutes will be given to students to go through the question paper in CBSE board exam 2024.
