CBSE Compartment Exams 2020: All India Students Association, AISA demanded cancellation of CBSE Compartment Exams 2020 which is scheduled to begin in September. The students association sent a letter to the Education Minister and to all the Chief Ministers of the state highlighting the problems the students may face in order to appear for the exam amid this ongoing pandemic situation.
The letter sent to the Chief Ministers reads that “Over 2.2 lakh students including students of your state found themselves in the Compartment category by 1-7 marks. The said students demand the cancellation of the Compartment exam for the following reasons.” Reasons such as the rise of COVID-19 cases, lack of resources, mental health issues, etc, are listed in the letter.
Now, AISA tweeted the letter and other documents on its official twitter handle as well. The tweet reads, “We have sent letters to the CM and Education Ministers of all the states highlighting the plight of the students. We have made a formal request for an appointment as well. We hope to hear soon from the respective offices.”

Consideration of grace marks or marks on the basis of Internal assessment is also one of the demands made by the students association. The association further asked CBSE to deem them as ‘Passed’ in their Board exam so that they can move forward with their respective higher education and avoid the risk of losing a year in their educational journey and have an equal chance as other students.
Meanwhile, CBSE commenced the online application process for CBSE Compartment Exams 2020 for Class 10, 12 from August 12, 2020. The eligibility criteria involve those candidates who appeared for Class 10, 12 examinations in February/ March 2020 as regular candidates, and whose result has been declared as ‘Compartment’. The Board declared the CBSE 12th Results 2020 on July 13 and CBSE 10th Results 2020 on July 15.
