Programmes consist of the introduction of an Artificial Intelligence (AI) curriculum charter for Class 8, 9 and 10 for 22,000 schools. According to Intel, this has been done with the objective to empower one lakh students within 2020.

On Friday, Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) and tech major Intel signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to digitally empower approximately one lakh students with the integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in India's education system. Programmes consist of the introduction of an Artificial Intelligence (AI) curriculum charter for Class 8, 9 and 10 for 22,000 schools. According to Intel, this has been done with the objective to empower one lakh student within 2020.

The curriculum is centred on 'Intel AI for Youth'. This is said to be an immersive, hands-on learning programme putting to use experiential practises comprising both social and technological skills. The MoU also informed that Intel along with CBSE would soon be unveiling a 'National AI Olympiad' to inspire young students to display their significant social impact solutions as an indication of achievement.

According to the company, it has been projected that by 2030, AI would lead to a contribution of $15.7 trillion to the international economy. For comprehensive economic growth and social development, India's own AI strategy recognised artificial intelligence as an opportunity and solution provider.

The comprehensive programme has been aimed at empowering the young generation to become AI-ready. This Chip-making conglomerate has prepared an outcome-based AI curriculum for students of Class 8 and above along with CBSE. The curriculum was steered with eight schools, preparing youth to design AI projects focussed on social impact in 2019, with the objective to empower 1,00,000 students with AI-readiness skills in 2020.
