IIM Lucknow launches Centre for happiness to understand & promote mental well-being
IIM Lucknow has started the centre of happiness in collaboration with the US-based Rekhi Foundation with the aim to understand and promote mental well-being
The Indian Institute of Management, Lucknow (IIM-L) has announced its decision to set up a new centre of happiness. The initiative has been taken with the aim to understand and promote mental well-being. The b-school has started the centre in collaboration with the US-based Rekhi Foundation, according to IIM-L director Professor Archana Shukla. “This centre will help us understand problems of stress and anxiety by setting up ‘mind labs’ that will conduct behavioural research and promote happiness,” Shukla said during the institute’s 37th convocation ceremony.
IIM Lucknow to begin MBA in entrepreneurship and innovation from August
Shukla further announced the starting of a new programme, MBA (entrepreneurship and innovation), from August that aims at providing potential entrepreneurs with the skills, knowledge and industry exposure.
She added that IIM Lucknow has been chosen as the ‘State Institution of Transformation’ by the Niti Aayog for capacity building of the planning department of UP. “The Centre for Marketing in Emerging Economies (CMEE) has collaborated with Dr Vasantha Lakshmi Charitable Trust Research Centre to conduct a pan-India research on sustainable water conservation and management. Besides, the students established the first ‘Diversity and Inclusion Club at IIM-L, highlighting their commitment to promoting a welcoming and inclusive campus environment,” Professor Shukla said.
152 papers published by IIM-L faculty
During the academic year, IIM-L faculty published over 152 papers in national and international journals, with about 24% in A* and A category journals and one in the Financial Times' top 50 journals.
Lauding the efforts of faculty members, Shukla said three members – Professor Samir K Srivastava, Professor Suresh K Jakhar and Professor Sushil Kumar -- have figured among the top 2% of researchers for single-year impact in the world, according to a study conducted by Stanford University and published by Elsevier.
