Referring to the guidelines set for the paper setters, CBSE stated that they have to ensure that the questions on CBSE question papers must be academic-oriented only and should be class, religion-neutral.

CBSE 12th Sociology Paper: Acknowledging the errors committed during CBSE 12th Sociology Paper on Wednesday (December 1), the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE_ has posted an apology letter via its official social media handles. The CBSE Class 12 Sociology Paper asked questions on the Gujarat riots. Referring to the question paper, CBSE posted an apology stating, “A question has been asked in today's class 12 sociology Term 1 exam which is inappropriate and in violation of the CBSE guidelines for external subject experts for setting question papers. CBSE acknowledges the error made and will take strict action against the responsible persons.”

Referring to the guidelines set for the paper setters, CBSE stated that they have to ensure that the questions on CBSE question papers are academic-oriented only and should be class, religion-neutral. CBSE further stated that questions should not touch upon domains that could harm the sentiments of people based on social and political choices.

However, the question asked in the 12th Sociology paper created a ruckus over social media and faced a huge outrage. Many even claimed that the question was there in the question paper because the topic is included in the syllabus.

Candidates on Twitter claim that the Class 12 Sociology paper was easy, however, there were some out-of-the-syllabus questions and did not have the correct MCQ options. The paper was a bit confusing and doable.

CBSE Boards 2022 are being conducted in two terms. CBSE Class 12 exam will be concluded on December 22. The next exam is the English Core paper scheduled to be held on December 3.
