All the promoted students would be allowed to improve their scores in the succeeding year as per the cycle of the semester.
The University of Delhi decided to promote all the intermediate semester/term/year students of first-year and second-year of all undergraduate and postgraduate courses. Realizing the need for clarification DU published an official notice regarding the same on its website i.e. du.ac.in.
The official notice regarding the promotion of the students states, “This is in continuation with the notification issued on 04.06.2020 for intermediate semester/term/year students ( I Year (II Semester/Term), II Year (IV Semester/Term)) UG and PG, the following additions are required to be noted by all concerned related with the grading and promotion for Intermediate semester/term/year students registered with colleges/departments/centres for academic session 2019 -20 as one time measure in view of COVID-19 pandemic.”
Stating that the authorities shall promote all the students irrespective of their marks, DU said, “The matter of carry forward (for the subjects in which the student has failed) shall be allowed for the current academic year only and every student shall be promoted to the next year. However, such students may clear the examinations for the course in which he/she has failed/remained absent, when examinations are held next year as per the cycle of semester and the span period.”
Giving a chance to improve their scores next year, the University stated, “All above students shall be allowed to improve their grades in the succeeding year as per the cycle of semester for students admitted in the semester mode of study.”
“For students admitted in the yearly mode of study, the notification issued on 04.06.2020 for students registered with SOL and NCWEB shall be applicable in the case of students belonging to yearly mode of assessment,” DU notice further reads.
Meanwhile, The University of Delhi launched ‘DU Admission Help Desk’ to solve the admission related queries of the students. Students seeking admission in Delhi University can contact the University’s admission help desk and get their admission queries resolved over the phone or email. While the University of Delhi is making all the efforts to make the enrolled as well as aspiring-to-take-admission students informed about each and every update through its official website i.e. du.ac.in. The University also launched a dedicated help desk for the students to resolve their queries related to DU Admissions 2020.
