The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Patna has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with United Kingdom-based University of Newcastle for carrying out research projects. The collaboration will promote exchange of research programmes where students and faculty will be benefited through the latest developments in various disciplines. The agreement will last for a period of three years.
Meanwhile, a Japanese start-up, I’mbesideyou, specialising in online communication through AI analytics, has also offered internship and job opportunities to students of IIT Patna graduates, said officials of the institute.
Kripa Shankar Singh, training and placement officer at IIT Patna, said, “The delegates of Japanese start-up have given consent for extending internship and full-time hiring opportunities to our students. Considering Covid-19 situation, the recruitment process will be conducted in virtual mode.”
The institute will soon sign an agreement with the Education Department as per which experts will set up hi-tech science laboratories in government schools of Bihar. The labs will initially be developed in 50 government schools, including seven in Patna.
IIT Patna offers Btech, MTech, MSc and PhD courses across various departments of study. Admission to IIT Patna courses is through entrance exams. For entry to Btech courses, the candidate needs to clear JEE Advanced, for MTech GATE, for MSc IIT JAM and for PhD courses, the candidate has to qualify GATE, CSIR NET, UGC NET JRF.
