The Indian Institute of Science (IISC) Bangalore got ranked as the best Indian institute by the Round University Ranking (RUR) 2020, Russia.
The Indian Institute of Science (IISC) Bangalore got ranked as the best Indian institute by the Round University Ranking (RUR) 2020, Russia. The prominent Indian institute of Science also obtained a significant place on a global platform as it’s the only Indian institute that got featured in the top 100 or Diamond League.
The performance of the institute got improved this year as compared to 2019. The institute managed to climb a good number of positions and got 62nd rank. In 2019, IISC was ranked 84th with 81.393 score. However, this year, the institute’s score is 83.813.
Just like last year, none of the other Indian institutes could make it to the top 100.
Surprisingly, IIT-Kharagpur, which was ranked as the best Indian institute by THE Impact Ranking 2020, secured the 324th position with a score of 59.05 in RUR World University ranking.
The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi is placed at 249 places followed by IIT-Madras at 271 and Indian Institute of Science Education and Research, Pune at 287th.
RUR World Ranking 2020: Top 5
The universities that remained the best globally are Harvard University, USA with a perfect 100 score followed by the California Institute of Technology (Caltech) with 99.291. Imperial College of London at the third spot (The only UK varsity to feature in the top five). Stanford University and Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) got the 4th and the 5th rank respectively. Last year, Yale University was on the 5th position.
