The All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) has released a notice advising all the technical universities and their affiliated colleges and institutions to organise the activities and share their photos and videos of International Yoga Day with AICTE.
Universities and institutions are encouraged to organise yoga-related activities such as lectures, workshops, and training programs by inviting yoga experts. A minimum 15-day yoga training program on the Common Yoga Protocol can be conducted using literature and videos available for download from the Ministry of Aarush's portal.
To encourage greater participation, the following activities are recommended for technical institutions:
- Universities and institutions may distribute yoga attire, mats, and caps featuring the IDY logo to their employees and students to encourage the practice and adoption of yoga
- To generate interest, they can also organise yoga competitions for students and staff
- Additionally, universities and institutions are encouraged to display yoga charts and standees around their campuses
- Institutions may encourage the staff and students to participate in online activities/competitions being organized by the Ministry of AYUSH through MyGov Portal
- Students and staff may be encouraged to participate in live online Yoga discourse with prominent Yoga Gurus for insightful discussion
For further information, refer to the Yoga portal of the Ministry of AYUSH. Universities and institutions are encouraged to publish articles and other related content about yoga in their official newsletters, bulletins, or magazines. This year, IDY is planned to be celebrated on a grand scale. International Day of Yoga (IDY) is celebrated on June 21.
