Anna University students can enrol for online courses instead of summer internships
In view of the Covid-19 pandemic, Chennai’s Anna University has given an option to its third year engineering students to enrol themselves for online courses or mini projects instead of their usual summer industrial internships this year.
Students who need to undergo industrial training or internship or practical training for two or three credits each during summer vacation of May/ June 2021 will be allowed to pursue this course in the form of a mini project/ self-study project of professional nature under the guidance of a faculty member of the department, said a recent circular from the Centre For Academic Courses to Deans of Regional Campuses, Constituent Colleges and Principals of Non-Autonomous Affiliated Colleges.
“Alternatively, they can enroll for an additional professional elective or online course related to professional elective courses (not open elective courses). The students shall undergo this online course on SWAYAM (Study Webs of Active-Learning for Young Aspiring Minds) or MOOC (massive open online course) platform only and shall produce a certificate or marksheet. For NPTEL courses, the guidelines issued on evaluation of NPTEL courses on February 6, 2021, shall be followed. The decision has been taken as a one-time measure due to COVID-19 pandemic,” the circular read.
Anna University has also announced the results for the BTech, BE, MTech, ME, MCA and MBA courses offered in the affiliated colleges. Students check the Anna University re-exam 2021 results on the official website of the university. The re-exams were conducted by the varsity in April and May 2021.
