GATE 2022 registration last date extended; apply till September 30

The application deadline for the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2022 has been extended again by the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Kharagpur. Candidates can apply on gate.iitkgp.ac.in till tomorrow (September 30). 

GATE 2022 registration without late fees has been extended for the second time now. Earlier, the last date to apply for the exam was September 28. “The application deadline has been extended upto 30th September 2021 (Thursday) with no additional fees,” reads a notice on the official website. GATE 2022 will be conducted on February 5, 6, 12 and 13, 2022, by Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kharagpur.

GATE 2022: How to apply 

Step 1: Visit the official website at https://gate.iitkgp.ac.in/. 

Step 2: Click on the ‘apply online’ link available on the homepage. Proceed to complete the registration process. Enter email id/username and password.  

Step 3: Fill the GATE 2022 application form. 

Step 4: Upload required documents such as photograph and signature. 

Step 5: Pay the GATE 2022 registration fee.  

Step 6: Preview the filled form and click on submit. 

Step 7: Download and print a copy of the same for future references. 

GATE 2022 application fees for general category is Rs. 1500 and for the reserved category is Rs. 750.This year, two new papers, Geomatics Engineering (GE) and Naval Architecture & Marine Engineering (NM), have been added to the GATE 2022. These papers will contain General Aptitude (GA) section (15 Marks) as applicable for all papers of GATE 2022.  

GATE 2022 will be held as an online computer-based test. The GATE 2022 paper will be of the objective type comprising three types of questions: Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs), Multiple Select Questions (MSQs), and Numerical Answer Type (NAT) questions.
