IIT Delhi announces Winter School on Theoretical Computer Science

The last date to apply for the Winter School on Theoretical Computer Science is October 31, 2023.

The CS Theory group of IIT Delhi is all set to host a four-day winter school, intended to introduce participants to interesting research areas of Theoretical Computer Science. This school will be held from December 11 to December 14, 2023, at IIT Delhi campus.

The applications are now open. Interested pre-final and final year undergraduate students and masters students can apply for the school. A total of 50 students (based on academic performance and a short `statement of interest') will be shortlisted.

The school will have lectures by various faculty members on topics ranging from Algorithms, Computational social choice, Communication complexity, Security protocol verification and more. There will also be tutorials, activity sessions, opportunities for informal interaction with the faculty members and graduate students at IIT Delhi.

There will also be opportunities for the winter school participants to do an internship with CSE faculty members. The internships will be during summer 2024 and a stipend will be provided to cover living and lodging expenses in the IIT hostel. 

The participants (from outside NCR region) will be paid a flat travel reimburesment of INR 3000. A higher reimburesement might be available to those coming from far off cities.

The details of the selected applicants and procedure to register will be communicated over email within two weeks from the application deadline. The participants (from outside NCR region) will be provided accommodation on-campus as per availability.
