IIT Goa invites applications for PhD programmes

The institute offers PhD in computer science and engineering, chemical and materials engineering, chemistry, electrical engineering, mathematics, mechanical engineering and physics. The last date to submit applications is May 12, 2023.

The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Goa has invited applications for admission to its PhD programmes in engineering for the 2023-24 autumn semester beginning in July 2023. The institute offers PhD in computer science and engineering, chemical and materials engineering, chemistry, electrical engineering, mathematics, mechanical engineering and physics. The last date to submit applications is May 12, 2023. 

IIT Goa offers full-time or regular PhD in following categories:  

(i) Teaching Assistantship (TA): Students get fellowship from the institute as per the guidelines by the Ministry of Education 

(ii) TA through Project (TAP): Students get fellowship from the research project and partial support from the institute 

(iii) Government/Semi Government Fellowship Awards such as QIP, CSIR-JRF, UGC-JRF, DAE, DST-INSPIRE, DBT, NBHM, etc. 

(iv) Sponsored: A student in this category is sponsored by a R&D organisation, academic institution, government organisation, or industry for doing research in the institute on a full-time basis. The institute does not provide any assistantship/fellowship to such a student 

(v) Self-financed: A student in this category works full-time or part-time towards the PhD program. The institute does not provide any assistantship/fellowship to such a student. 

Part-Time PhD program: A student in this category is a professionally employed person (including IIT Goa staff), who pursues the PhD program while continuing the duties of the employment. The institute does not provide any assistance/fellowship to such a student.  

Application fee for females, SC/ST/PwD/EWS category candidates is INR 100, while It is INR 200 for others. It can be paid through NEFT/RTGS/UPI. For details regarding eligibility criteria, candidates are advised to visit the following link – https://iitgoa.ac.in/phd-admissions/.
