IIT Kanpur Joins CSIR-CDRI for Pre-Fest Event Ahead of IISF 2023

CSIR-CDRI Lucknow organized a Pre-Fest Event for ndia International Science Festival (IISF) 2023, welcoming 100 students and 4 faculty members from IIT Kanpur and Kendriya Vidyalaya. They hosted a Student-Scientist Connect Program called Public Outreach in Amritkaal, with the goal of encouraging young minds to explore careers in the dynamic field of Drug Discovery and Research. 

Dr. Sanjeev Yadav, the Jigyasa nodal officer at CSIR-CDRI, greeted the students and shared insightful details about the diverse programs within IISF 2023. He highlighted the event's significance in the scientific journey, emphasizing that IISF, with the theme 'Science for Society,' is a platform initiated by the Prime Minister. The primary goal is to celebrate India's strides in Science and Technology, fostering accessibility to the world of science for everyone. 

Further, the students had the chance to delve into the laboratories, engaging in hands-on activities across different scientific sections. They also got introduced to the herbarium, deepening their knowledge of the wide array of plant species under investigation. They also got to know about the scientific validation methods employed to confirm the efficacy of these molecules in drug development.

IISF stands as a collaborative effort between the Ministry of Science and Technology, Ministry of Earth Sciences, Department of Space, and Department of Atomic Energy, partnering with Vijnana Bharati, a science movement led by the nation's scientists with a patriotic fervor. Its main aim is to celebrate the realm of science, ensuring its accessibility to everyone.
