IIT Kanpur Organises Comprehensive Orientation Programme for Y24 Batch
IIT Kanpur has reintroduced its Faculty Guide network, with around 85 faculty members volunteering to support students along with upholding a ragging-free campus through a distinctive mentor-mentee system.
IIT Kanpur organised a vibrant 10-day Orientation Programme to welcome its Y24 batch of students. The orientation programme highlighted a glimpse of exciting new academic life for over 1,500 postgraduate (PG) and 1,215 undergraduate (UG) students. During the orientation program, students were familiarised with a variety of campus sports, clubs, societies, and administrative bodies. These activities included a thorough visit to Gymkhana, Gender Cell, de-addiction initiatives, internships, Startup Incubation and Innovation Centre (SIIC), industry-academia collaborations, Technopark, student-exchange programs with foreign universities, and cyber security measures.
Simultaneously, a dedicated orientation program was held for over 2,700 parents of undergraduate students. Parents were presented to the administrative and academic structures of IIT Kanpur. The session aimed to restore parents about the institute's commitment for the support for their children.

IIT Kanpur supports a ragging-free campus atmosphere via its distinctive mentor-mentee system. By implementing this, immediate senior students will mentor a batch of 5-6 students and introduce them to the campus life.
