The Convocation will be held in the Institute Auditorium in Session I and the distribution of degrees will take place in various Lecture Halls in Session II. 

IIT Kanpur's 56th Convocation on July 3

IIT Kanpur announced that the 56th Convocation of the institute will be held on July 3, 2023. The Chief Guest will be MR NR Narayana Murthy Founder of Infosys Limited.

UG and PG degree recipients, who are allotted seats in the Auditorium through the lottery and all awardees, are advised to assemble and take their seats in the Auditorium by 12:30 pm.

The Senators/Chairperson, SUGC, SPGC/All Department/Programme Heads who intend to participate in the Academic Procession during the Convocation are requested to participate in the rehearsal. They are requested to assemble in the Auditorium by 12:45 pm.

"We extend our most cordial invitation to you to attend the Convocation and to receive your degree in person. We hope that you will be present on the occasion. Please note that you must reach the campus well in advance for the occasion so that you are able to participate in the rehearsal on July 2, 2023," reads the official notification. 

All degree recipients are requested to fill in the Online Consent Form for Convocation which is available at the following link: https://oag.iitk.ac.in/Oa/convo.jsp.

"The Convocation fee of INR 1800/- is required to be paid online (irrespective of your presence or absence at the Convocation). Please make sure that you have cleared your dues beforehand. The last date to clear the dues to get the degree in the 56th Convocation is June 23, 2023. Unless the No-dues are cleared and the online consent form is filled as “YES”, it will not be possible for you to receive the degree in person," added the notification.

To attend the Convocation ceremony in person, the graduating students have to ensure that they are fully vaccinated with two doses of the COVID-19 vaccine and that the family member(s) accompanying the student, if any, are also vaccinated with two doses of COVID-19 vaccine.
