IIT Patna organizes Induction Program for MTech, MSc and PhD batch 2022-23

The academic section of IIT Patna organized an "Induction Program" in the Senate Hall of the Institute for the newly admitted students of MTech, MSc and PhD programmes 2022-23.

Indian Institutes of Technology (IIT) Patna organized the "Induction Program" in the Senate Hall of the Institute for the newly admitted students of MTech, MSc and PhD programmes 2022-23.

As per the official notification, the day was a success with the presence of a huge number of newly inducted students, parents, faculty members, staff, and the technical team. 

This year, in IIT Patna, for 10 PhD programmes across various engineering streams, a total of 59 students got admission including 49 males and 10 females. For 12 streams of the MTech programme, a total of 117 new students enrolled including 104 males and 13 females. In MSc courses, there was a total of 64 new students including 42 male students and 22 female students.

IIT Patna's Induction Programme Details

The induction programme was inaugurated by Prof AK Thakur, Dean Academic, Prof Smriti Singh, Associate Dean Student Affairs, Prof Manabendra Pathak, Dean Faculty Affairs, Dr Anup Kumar Keshri, and Associate Dean Research.

Prof AK Thakur, under whose aegis, the orientation day was held, motivated the students and shared about the significance of research for individual and societal welfare. 

He has urged the students to focus on a collaborative approach instead of competition to achieve academic excellence. In addition to the academic program, he has emphasized soft skills and the development of interpersonal skills to be successful in his career.

"Academic must be driven through research. Today is the era of knowledge and sustainable development will be achieved through the core and technical competencies," he added.

The rest of the dignitaries also welcomed the students and informed them about the multiple strands of the institute and administration. Along with this, they asked the newly admitted students to be sincere in their studies and be dedicated to their future careers.
