Under CeNSE MTech fellowship, students coming from traditional engineering and science disciplines will get opportunities to gain expertise in electronics and semiconductor technology.

A memorandum of understanding (MoU) has been signed at the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) Bangalore between the Applied Materials India Private Limited and the Centre for Nano Science and Engineering (CeNSE). The collaboration will offer a sponsored fellowship programme for second-year Master of Technology (MTech) students starting from the academic year 2022-23.

About CeNSE MTech fellowship

Under CeNSE MTech fellowship, students coming from traditional engineering and science disciplines will get opportunities to gain expertise in electronics and semiconductor technology. The programme has been launched with an objective to help expand the talent pool in support of India’s evolving semiconductor industry.

Two second-year master’s students from mechanical, chemical and electrical engineering streams of CeNSE could be eligible for the two-year fellowship programme, according to the Indian Express. Apart from these opportunities, the students will also get a chance to conduct research on materials engineering, participants of the program will be eligible for internships at Applied Materials India.

Talking about the collaboration, Srinivas Satya, Country President, Applied Materials India expressed that through the program, they aim to build upon the foundation students have acquired in their undergraduate courses across nanoscience and engineering. They also look forward to collaborating with the CeNSE faculty to shape the MTech curriculum.

“The initiative will connect the students to highly trained tech professionals and make them industry-ready,” said Professor Srinivasan Raghavan, CeNSE, IISc Bengaluru.

IISC BTech admissions in mathematics and computing begin

IISC commenced the admission application process for its BTech in Mathematics and Computing course on June 1, 2022. Candidates interested in IISC Bangalore BTech Admissions 2022 must note that admission to the newly launched undergraduate course will be based on Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Advanced scores. Last date to apply is August 31, 2022.
