DU 2nd Cut off 2021: Delhi University is all set to release the consolidated DU second cut-off list 2021 for undergraduate courses tomorrow; i.e. October 9, 2021. As per the DU Cutoff schedule 2021, candidates can apply for DU Admissions 2021 under the second cut-off list from October 11 to October 13. Delhi University received as many as 60,904 applications for admission against the first cut-off list as the Delhi University closed the admission under the first cut-off list on October 7.
Delhi University had begun the DU Admission 2021 against the DU First cutoff on October 4. As per the official data shared by the University, 14,205 applications have been approved by the principals of various colleges, and 27,006 students have secured their admission by paying the fees. Candidates must note that in a specific cut-off admission round, they will not be allowed to change the course and college choice but in the subsequent DU cutoff lists 2021, they can apply for a different course and college.
All those candidates who did not apply in the first round are eligible to apply in the second round and can participate in the admission process following the regular guidelines. In case a candidates admissions were approved in the first round, however, he/she did not pay the fees and want to change college and/or course, then they have to cancel the previously approved application and apply again.
While speaking about the changing course or college with Shiksha, Prof. (Dr.) Promila Kumar, Principal, Gargi College, Delhi University said, "If you are getting your choice of course in any college in the first list please fix your seat. And in the second or subsequent list, you see your cut-off falls in a certain college that you want to go to, make sure that you fulfill all the criteria before cancelling the admission. Because if you cancel the admission and then you discover that you are not eligible in another college, that is a very sorry state. Students should not cancel their admission unless they are 100 per cent sure that they will get admission to another college."
Candidates must note that they will have to pay a non-refundable cancellation fee of Rs 1,000. All those candidates who have secured their seat by paying the fee, but want to withdraw can do so by paying the said cancellation fee. The rest of the amount paid during the admission will be reflected in the wallet. The fee will be adjusted accordingly if the admission is approved in a subsequent round and they will have to pay only the balance fee. If the fee in the latter college is less, the balance will be refunded to the account.
As per the official statement, " All those candidates who had applied in a cut-off but their application was “Rejected” in that cutoff list will be considered as Fresh Candidates."
Delhi University Admissions 2021: Guidelines for DU UG merit-based admission 2021
Candidates are advised to check the guidelines for DU UG Admissions 2021 below applying:
- Candidates must recheck their marks/percentages and eligibility criteria before applying
- Ascertaining percentage in a specific cut-off for a programme in a college
- Candidates must ensure that their best of four/three fall within the cutoff they are applying for admission. For example, if the first cut-off of a certain programme and the college is 98 per cent, and, second cut-off for the same programme and college is 98.25 per cent. Then to apply for the said programme and College in the second Cutoff, Best Four must be greater than equal to 97.25 per cent but less than 98 per cent
- Candidates can choose only one course and college during a particular cutoff. Candidates can not select multiple courses and colleges in a particular cutoff
- Candidates will not be allowed to change a course or college during a particular cut-off
- Selection of programme and College can be made only through the candidate’s own dashboard
- Owing to COVID-19, no physical visit to the Colleges/ University during the admission process is allowed
- The procedure for choosing the programme and the college by candidates must be finished within the given deadline as notified in the schedule
“Admission once cancelled/withdrawn will not be restored under any circumstances. The sole responsibility of cancellation/withdrawal of admission, for whatever reason/ circumstances will be of the candidate only,” the Delhi University said.
