DU Vice-Chancellor Yogesh Singh said that the DU eligibility criteria will be decided on the basis of Common University Entrance Test (CUET 2022) marks.
DU Admissions 2022: Delhi University has announced the admission policy for the academic year 2022-23. DU Vice-Chancellor Yogesh Singh said that the DU eligibility criteria will be decided on the basis of Common University Entrance Test (CUET 2022) marks.
"The candidates will be able to appear in CUET only in those subjects which they have taken in class XII. The merit will also be calculated on the basis of combination of only those subjects in which the candidate has appeared in the CUET test," the VC said, as reported by NDTV.
He further added that the DU Admissions 2022 to undergraduate courses will be done through CUET 2022 only except the School of Open Learning and National Collegiate Women's Education Board.
DU Admissions Policy 2022-23
"It is mandatory for all the candidates to appear in CUET 2022 including those seeking admission to additional seats. The eligibility criteria will be decided on the basis of marks obtained in CUET," VC said while announcing the DU admission guidelines for 2022.
The candidates can appear for CUET in a maximum of six subjects out of which one must be a language subject. The best score will be considered for admission, added VC.
While speaking about the CUET 2022, the Dean of Admissions Haneet Gandhi said, that the common entrance test will consist of three sections in which the first section will have two parts. The first part of CUET consists of 13 languages and 20 languages in the second part.
“It is mandatory for the candidates to appear in at least one language for admission to Delhi University, out of both these parts combined,” Gandhi said. “The second section of the entrance exam consists of 27 domain-specific topics. The third section is based on General Knowledge which will be for admission to BA Program only,” she said.
Students seeking admission in BSc programmes must note that the eligibility criteria will be calculated on the basis of Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics or Biology. However, 30 per cent marks in any language will be obtained as qualifying criteria.
“For admission to Bachelor of Arts, a candidate will have to appear in the entrance test in any one language from section one and in any three subjects from the other section. Merit will be calculated on the basis of marks obtained by the candidate in the same subject and language,” said Gandhi.
Candidates opting for language programmes can choose a particular language or take tests in any other language. For the 50 per cent reserved seats in minority colleges, 85 per cent marks for admission will be taken from the CUET, and the remaining 15 per cent will be decided by colleges. "Admission to non-reserved 50 per cent seats will be on the basis of CUET," the VC added.
