IIT Kharagpur offers free course on blockchain technology; apply now
The course will be conducted from January 24 to April 15, 2022, and the last date to apply is January 31, 2022. Participants need to have basic knowledge in computer networks, operating systems, cryptography and network security.
The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kharagpur is offering a 12-week free online course called Blockchain and its Applications on the NPTEL platform. The course will cover the basic design principles of blockchain technology and its applications over different sectors. The course also provides tutorials on setting up blockchain applications using one of the well-adopted permissionless blockchain platforms - Ethereum, and one permissioned blockchain platform - Hyperledger.
The course will be conducted by Sandip Chakraborty and Shamik Sural from the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at IIT Kharagpur. The course can be taken up by undergraduate students, postgraduate students and industry associates. Participants need to have basic knowledge in computer networks, operating systems, cryptography and network security.
The course is free to enrol and learn from. But if the participant wants a certificate, he/she has to register and write the proctored exam conducted by the institute at any of the designated exam centres. The exam is optional for a fee of INR 1,000. The course will be conducted from January 24 to April 15, 2022, and the last date to apply is January 31, 2022.
