As many as 23 IITs have come together for the R&D fair IInvenTiv”, which being held on October 14 and 15 at IIT Delhi. 

Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras will showcase seven cutting-edge projects at IITs Research and Development (R&D) Fair 2022, which is being held on October 14 and 15 at IIT Delhi. These projects range from fields as diverse as telecommunications and biotechnology to rehabilitative devices for differently abled people and are poised to make a social impact on the community at large. 

As many as 23 IITs in the country have come together for a mega fair on R&D with an aim to inculcate “innovation-driven” outlook and encourage development of affordable technologies in line with “Make in India” and “Digital India” initiatives. The R&D fair called “IInvenTiv” is being organised as part of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav to commemorate 75 years of India’s Independence. 

Seven projects that IIT Madras will showcase at R&D Fair 

Below are the seven projects that IIT Madras will showcase at R&D Fair, which is being held at IIT Delhi. 

1. SHAKTI Class of indigenously-designed RISC-V Processors
2. Indigenous 5G/5Gi network solutions
3. Sustainable production of plant-derived anti-cancer drug-lead Camptothecin via microbial fermentation route 
4. Bio and Chemical Sensor Technologies for Healthcare, Environment and Pharma 
5. ARTSENS® device for early vascular ageing assessment 
6. New-Gen Single/Multi-point Superabrasive Tools 
7. NeoBolt - Motorized add-on to Wheelchair for Outdoor Mobility for differently abled 

R&D Fair is a great opportunity for industry-academic interaction: IIT Madras Director 

Highlighting the translational and transformational research underway at IIT Madras, IIT Madras Director V Kamakoti said, "The faculty and students of our institute have been working on technologies of societal importance spanning across multiple disciplines of science and engineering, as evident from the list of projects we will be demonstrating at the IIT R&D fair 2022. The R&D Fair is a great opportunity for industry-academic interaction with an objective of enabling large-scale productisation of technologies. We are confident that this effort will culminate in multiple Atma-nirbhar products in the Indian market."
