IIM Jammu inaugurates 2nd batch of Nurturing Future Leadership Program

The Nurturing Future Leadership Program stands out as a unique residential initiative designed to cultivate leadership abilities among educators across various levels. To create a pool of potential leaders for generational transition, this program is set to be conducted by the esteemed faculty of IIM Jammu from June 10 to 14, 2024.

The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Jammu inaugurated the second batch of the Nurturing Future Leadership Program. Held under the auspices of "The Malaviya Mission Teacher Training Programme," the inaugural session took place at the institute's permanent campus in Jagti.

Fostering Leadership Skills for Educators

The Nurturing Future Leadership Program stands out as a unique residential initiative designed to cultivate leadership abilities among educators across various levels. To create a pool of potential leaders for generational transition, this program is set to be conducted by the esteemed faculty of IIM Jammu from June 10 to 14, 2024.

Presiding over the inaugural ceremony,   Professor B S Sahay, the Director of IIM Jammu, addressed the participants, stressing the institution's distinguished contribution as a premier management institution in India. He urged active participation in the program, fostering connections with fellow educators and faculty members of   IIM Jammu, and reiterated the commitment to excellence and innovation in education.

Ministry of Education's Transformative Initiative

Highlighting the Ministry of Education, the Government of India's transformative initiative to nurture academic leaders as agents of positive change, Professor Sahay emphasized the acute shortage of leadership in academia. He underscored the noble nature of the teaching profession and its profound impact on students' lives. Professor Sahay encouraged participants to explore the state-of-the-art "Nalanda" library at   IIM Jammu and wished them a rewarding stay on campus.

Program Features and Structure

The event commenced with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp and a warm welcome address by Dr Apurva, Program Director at IIM Jammu. Dr Apurva highlighted the program's unique features and structure, emphasizing its pivotal role in grooming the next generation of academic leaders.

Dr Ateeque Shaikh, Chairperson of Executive Education & Consulting (EE&C) at   IIM Jammu, reiterated the institute's unwavering commitment to delivering high-quality executive education through leadership training programs. He emphasized   IIM Jammu's role in shaping educational leaders through such initiatives.

Divided into Comprehensive Themes

The residential training program will cover four broad themes, including leadership, communication, skill development, and recent government initiatives. Over the next five days, participants will engage in lectures, interactive workshops, group discussions, case studies, role-plays, and practical exercises to ensure active learning and application of concepts. They will also have the opportunity to network with prominent experts and faculty members from IIM Jammu.

Dr Naveen Goyal, Program Director at IIM Jammu, extended the vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to all stakeholders. The inaugural program concluded with the rendition of the National Anthem, symbolizing unity and pride.

The participants, eager to embark on their leadership journey, also had the privilege to explore the innovative facilities and extensive resources of the state-of-the-art library,   Nalanda, at   IIM Jammu.
