NEET PG 2023 exam is scheduled on March 5, 2023, the union health minister Mansukh Mandaviya said in Parliament that the government will not defer the exam any further. However, the demand to postpone NEET PG 2023 exam has reached Supreme Court and Telangana high court. The Supreme Court is expected to hear the case tomorrow. Read here a timeline of events so far.

The scenario looks similar to the previous year, where the NEET PG 2023 aspirants have been protesting to postpone the examination which is scheduled to be held on March 5, 2023. The aspirants first raised their voices on the social media platform Twitter where the issue was trending for days under #NEETPG2023 and #PostponeNEETPG2023. The doctors also protested at Jantar Mantar and called for the shutdown of OPD services. Similar to the previous year the government is saying that they want to bring normalcy back to the NEET PG admission cycles.

While it is expected that the top court of India will hear the postpone NEET PG 2023 plea tomorrow, here is a timeline of events, that has occurred so far:

February 27, 2023: Supreme Court rejected NEET PG 2023 postponment plea. We are trying to set the clock two years after pandemic, the court said.

February 23, 2023: Dr Rohan Krishnan, National Chairman of the Federation of All India Medical Association (FAIMA) tweeted, "CJI had allowed NEET PG case this week. All documentary formalities are done. It will come in the supplementary case list tomorrow. case will be on Friday. Also it’s obvious that if @NMC_IND & @MoHFW_INDIA issues notice for Postponement v shall withdraw all cases ."

February 22, 2023: Protesting students met an NMC official and submitted a representation, requesting exam postponement.

February 22, 2023: NBE closed NEET PG 2023 final correction window to rectify incorrect images.

February 16, 2023: Students file a petition in the Supreme Court.

February 15, 2023: Telangana High Court directed the National Medical Commission (NMC) to reconsider the NEET PG 2023 exam date.

February 10, 2023: Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya said the exam will be held as per the schedule in the Parliament. 

February 9, 2023: The registration window reopened for eligible candidates who will be completing their internship from July 1 to August 11.

February 8, 2023: A group of students started an online petition at change.org for exam postponement, FORDA delegation met union health minister Mansukh Mandaviya, and NBE extended the internship cut-off again to August 11. It was also decided to reopen the registration window.
