UP NEET PG 2024 Round 3 Counselling Dates Postponed Following Cutoff Percentile Reduction
UP NEET PG round 3 counselling process 2024 has been postponed till further notice owing to the reduction of the NEET PG cutoff percentile by the Medical Council Committee.
Uttar Pradesh Director General of Medical Education (UPDGME) has postponed the UP NEET PG round 3 counselling process 2024 till further notice. The department has released an official notification mentioning the postponement of round 3 counselling dates of Uttar Pradesh PG medical admission based on National Eligibility and Entrance Test-Postgraduate owing to the reduction of the NEET PG cutoff percentile by MCC.
"In view of the reduction of cut-off percentile of NEET PG-2024 counselling by the Medical Council Committee, the timetable issued by this office letter No. ME-3/2025/10 dated 02 January 2025 for online counselling of the third round under UP NEET PG-2024 is postponed till further orders." The official notification reads.
The UP NEET PG round 3 2024 choice filling and locking was scheduled to begin today i.e. January 8, 2025 followed by seat allotment result on January 13, 2025. Since the counselling process for round 3 has been postponed, students can expect fresh registration after the cutoff reduction anytime soon at upneet.gov.in.

The authorities will announce the revised UP NEET PG round 3 counselling dates 2024 following the reduced NEET PG cutoff percentile. Recently, the Medical Council Committee has announced a reduction in the NEET PG 2024 qualifying percentile for all categories. The General/ EWS category cutoff has been reduced to 15 percentile while SC/ ST/ OBC category cutoff has been reduced to 10 percentile.

Q: Who all are eligible for UP NEET PG counselling?
Candidates will have to fulfill following eligibility criteria for UP NEET PG counselling:
- Candidate must have completed MBBS from a recognised institute located in the state of Uttar Pradesh
- Candidate who are domiciled in the state of Uttar Pradesh and have completed their MBBS degree from an institute outside Uttar Pradesh (15% AIQ seat), can also apply for UP NEET PG 2024 counselling
- Only those candidates who have passed MBBS/BDS from Uttar Pradesh are eligible for admission to the seats of government/state/private/deemed universities
- Candidates who are not domiciled in the state of Uttar Pradesh and have completed their MBBS degree from outside Uttar Pradesh can apply for seats in the private universities only. He/she must have completed the compulsory rotatory internship.
- He/she must have qualified NEET PG
Q: How many PG medical seats are available through UP NEET PG counselling 2024?
Number of seats to be allotted through UP NEET PG counselling 2024 will be released along with the official brochure. last year around 923 seats were allotted through various rounds of counselling. Candidates have to register on the official website and declare choice of college and course for seat alotment.
Q: I didn't qualify for NEET PG 2024. Will I be eligible to participate in UP NEET PG 2024 counselling?
No. Candidates will have to qualify NEET PG 2024 exam to participate in the counselling for UP medical PG admission 2024. Based on NEET PG rank and other details filled in the application form, a merit list will be released by Directorate of Medical Education and Training Uttar Pradesh (DMET). The merit list comprises shortlisted candidates for UP NEET PG counselling 2024.
