NEET PG 2022 aspirant commits suicide in Coimbatore

A NEET PG 2022 aspirant has reportedly committed suicide in Coimbatore, two days before the examination, read here to know more.

As per reports coming in, a NEET PG 2022 aspirant has died allegedly by suicide in Coimbatore.

Dr Datta, Junior Resident at AIIMS New Delhi and General Secretary at FAIMA India, has tweeted, "Just received the heartbreaking news that a young NEET PG 2022 aspirant has died by suicide in Coimbatore! The stress and anxiety caused by the overlap of exams and counselling has destroyed the mental health of doctors! The arrogance of Health Ministry is responsible for this!"

 

The NEET PG 2022 aspirants have been demanding to postpone the examination by 6 to 8 weeks but the government and Supreme Court denied their demands and NBEMS also notified that the examination will be conducted on May 21, 2022, and will not be postponed by 6 to 8 weeks as was being demanded by the aspirants.

NEET PG 2022 aspirants knocked every possible door to demand postponement

The aspirants demanded deferment of the exam date on social media sites by tagging the health minister, and PMO. The doctors even said that they will surrender their medical degrees if the exam gets conducted on May 21. The demand was backed by various doctors' associations, and the aspirants also filed the plea in Supreme Court. 

The main reasons they cited for their demand are - the insufficient gap between NEET PG 2021 counselling and NEET PG 2022 exam date and also if the examination gets conducted on May 21, nearly 5000 interns will be ineligible for the examination as their internship got delayed due to the Covid duties during the pandemic.
