Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) has announced that it will be admitting students for Post Basic BSc Nursing Programme, batch starting from January 2022 through a national level entrance exam to be conducted on May 8, 2022. The exam duration is 2:30 hours.
The online application can be submitted at the official website www.ignou.ac.in latest by April 17, 2022. There is no age bar for admission into the programme of the University.
The examination fee is INR 1000 and it should be remitted through a payment gateway using Credit Card or Debit Card issued by Banks in India or through online banking.
Eligibility for IGNOU's Post Basic BSc Nursing Programme
As per the notification, "In-sevice Nurses, that is Registered Nurse and Registered Midwife (RNRM) having 10+2 with three years, Diploma in General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) with a minimum of two years of experience in the profession after RNRM."
For male nurses who have not done midwifery in the GNM Programme should have a certificate in any one of the nursing courses of 6-9 months duration prescribed by the Indian Nursing Council in lieu of midwifery, said the notification.
Moreover, other eligible candidates are in-service Nurses (RNRM) who have completed Class 10 or equivalent with three years, Diploma in General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) with a minimum of five years of experience in the profession after RNRM.
For male nurses, the criteria are the same as mentioned above.
