With the announcement of CUET UG 2024 results, Delhi University will commence admissions for undergraduate courses soon.
Delhi University has provided more than ₹1.2 crore in financial assistance to 1,669 economically weaker students under its Financial Aid Scheme (FSS). This announcement was made during the 1270th meeting of the Delhi University Executive Council (EC).
With the announcement of CUET UG 2024 results, Delhi University will commence admissions for undergraduate courses soon.
DU Vice Chancellor Prof. Yogesh Singh presenting the university's accounts highlighted that under the Financial Aid Scheme (FSS), more than ₹1.2 crore in financial assistance has been provided to 1,669 economically weaker students. The scheme, introduced in 2022, offers a 100% fee waiver for students from families with an annual income of ₹4 lakh or less and a 50% fee waiver for those with an annual income between ₹4 to 8 lakhs.
The Vice Chancellor also informed about the participation of nine Delhi University students in the upcoming Paris Olympics, with 70% of them being female athletes. He also tabled the report of the committee constituted for 12 colleges, reaffirming their integral role in the university.
Highlighting the university's achievements, Prof. Singh announced that Delhi University has secured the 328th rank globally in the recently announced QS Ranking-2025, a significant leap from the 407th rank in 2024 and the 510-520 rank in 2023. Additionally, the university will start an M.Tech. Computer Science program with 30 seats and a BA (Hons) in Russian language from the academic session 2024-25. New medical courses will also commence from the upcoming session.
The Vice Chancellor informed that Delhi University has signed 33 Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) with foreign universities since 2022. There has been a 12% increase in research papers published in Scopus indexed journals, and the university's H index remains the highest in India. Eleven patents have been approved or published in the last year.
