There is no official intimation about the change in AIIMS Nursing 2025 exam pattern yet. Until last year, there was no change in the exam pattern. AIIMS New Delhi conducts the national level entrance exam to facilitate admission into the BSc Nursing and Post Basic BSc Nursing, the eligibility criteria and the pattern of both the exam will be different.

Yes. There will be negative marking in the AIIMS Nursing 2025 exam. For every correct answer the candidate will get 1 mark and for every wrong response -1/3 mark will be deducted. There will be 100 questions in the BSc Nursing question paper and 90 questions in the Post Basic BSc Nursing question paper.

No, AIIMS Nursing will be held only via the online mode. The AIIMS nursing 2025 exam will be a computer-based test and the candidates will be allotted separate computer systems to solve the questions. Q:   Who conducts AIIMS Nursing entrance exams for Nursing Courses?

A:

All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi conducts AIIMS BSc (Hons) nursing, BSc (Post-Basic) nursing and BSc (Paramedical) entrance exam annually to grant admission to all AIIMS campuses offering nursing course. The entrance exam is generally conducted in the month of May every year. The conducting body uses a two-stage method for registration to BSc nursing programme. The first is through the PAAR (Prospective Applicants Advanced Registration) system, a new AIIMS method. The second is through basic registration, followed by the Generation of Code and Final Registration.

AIIMS BSc nursing 2025 exam pattern follows a two-stage selection process. The two stages are:

  • Stage 1: Written examination
  • Stage 2: Personal Interview/Assessment

Stage 2: Personal Interview/Assessment Scheme

AIIMS will call candidates who will be able to make it to the merit list based on the written exam for the personal interview/assessment round. The second stage will have a weightage of 30 marks. The final merit list will decide the fate of the candidate based on their performance in both stages. Almost three times more candidates will be invited for the interview than the actual number of available seats. The assessment process will count the following criteria:

  • Past academic record in the Higher Secondary or class 12 or equivalent examination
  • Past academic record in the Nursing examination
  • Performance as a Staff Nurse

Q:   Can I skip a question in AIIMS Nursing exam if I don't know the answer? How many marks will be deducted?

A:

Yes, candidates are allowed to skip the questions. No marks will be deducted or given if the question is unanswered. However, if a candidate choose incorrect option then -1/3 mark will be deducted and +1 will be given for each correct answer.

AIIMS Nursing exam for the BSc Nursing programme will be a 120-minute long exam and the Post Basic Nursing exam will be 90 minutes long. No extra time will be given to the candidates under any circumstances. Candidates will only be able to leave the examination hall once the exam time is over. It is important to reach the test centre 30 minutes before the reporting time.

AIIMS, New Delhi, examination section has defined particular eligibility criteria for AIIMS BSc Nursing to pursue the BSc programme. AIIMS Nursing 2025 eligibility criteria for various programmes at the undergraduate level are mentioned below:

AIIMS BSc (Hons) Nursing 2025 Eligibility 

  • Candidates should have cleared class 12 exams or an equivalent exam from a recognized board with Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English subjects.
  • Candidates of the general category should have secured a minimum of 55 per cent marks in aggregate in class 12 and SC/ST category candidates should have secured 50 per cent in aggregate

AIIMS BSc Paramedical 2025 Eligibility

  • Candidates should have passed class 12 or an equivalent exam from a recognized board/university having Physics, Chemistry, English, and either Biology or Maths subjects
  • Candidates from the General/EWS/OBC category should have secured a minimum of 50 per cent marks in aggregate in class 12 and SC/ST category candidates should have secured 45 per cent in aggregate

AIIMS BSc Nursing (Post-basic) 2025 Eligibility

  • Candidates should have passed class 12 or an equivalent exam from a recognized board/university having Physics, Chemistry, English, and either Biology or Maths subjects. However, candidates who have qualified for class 11 on or before 1986 can also apply.
  • Candidates possessing a Diploma in GNM (General Nursing and Midwifery) from any Indian Nursing Council-recognized institution.
  • Candidates must have registered themselves as a nurse or as a midwife with the State Nursing Council. In the case of male nurses, besides being registered nurses, they should have six months of training in any of the mentioned subjects is mandatory.

Even though NEET UG scores are accepted for BSc Nursing (H), for admission to AIIMS Nursing courses, candidates must attempt and qualify for AIIMS BSc Nursing entrance exam. AIIMS Delhi has a separate entrance exam that grants admission to nursing and paramedical courses on the basis of the scores in written exam. Therefore, it is mandatory eligibility condition for admission in AIIMS institutes located in Delhi, Bhubaneswar and Rishikesh.
