JEPBN 2024: Counselling (Ongoing), Seat Allotment Result (Out), Registration & Choice Filling, Dates, Syllabus

JEPBN or the West Bengal Joint Entrance Exam for Post Basic Nursing is the entrance exam for the Post Basic Nursing course conducted by the West Bengal Joint Entrance Exam Board. The scores of JEPBN are accepted by the Nursing colleges offering the Post Basic Nursing course in West Bengal. The exam is conducted in offline mode for 90 minutes.

Find out the counselling process for seeking admission to Post Basic BSc nursing programme: 

Candidates who appeared in the State Common Entrance Examination, or JEPBN 2024, and have obtained a valid rank for admission to BSc nursing programme can apply for counselling. WBJEEB has begun the process of centralized online counselling/e-counselling after declaring the result. There will be officially THREE rounds of counselling. • Registration is allowed once at the beginning of 1st round - CLICK HERE TO REGISTER
• The registration fee for counselling is INR 500.
• No new details can be provided at the time of counselling. During registration, candidates’ information will be fetched from the information provided by the candidates during their application for the examination.
• Candidates need to provide Bank account details (for in case of any refund), address, etc.
• After selecting institutes/courses, the candidate will arrange his/her choices in order of his/her priority. If a candidate does not give any choice, obviously he/she will not be given any allotment.
• Candidate must lock his/her choices within the pre-announced date. 
• If a candidate fails/forgets to lock his/her choices within the pre-announced deadline, his/her last saved choices will be considered final and will be locked automatically after the scheduled date and time. 
• If a candidate fails/forgets to ‘save’ his/her choices within the pre-announced deadline, his/her unsaved choices will disappear.
• Allotment of 1st round will be declared on a pre-scheduled date.
• The allotment status will show the institute and course in which he/she has been allotted a seat.
• The candidate must pay a seat acceptance fee of INR 1000/- to download the allotment letter. If the candidate fails to pay the seat acceptance fee, the current allotment will be cancelled. The candidate will not be considered for seat allotment in any future round.

After downloading the allotment letter, the candidate must report to the allotted institute with the allotment letter and all other documents for verification.

The JEPBN 2024 result was announced on August 21, 2024. The JEPBN 2024 result was declared in the form of a scorecard. The JEPBN 2024 result carried information such as candidates’ section-wise and overall scores and ranks. Based on the scores, the participating institutes will shortlist candidates for the counselling and admission rounds. WBJEEB has also released the JEPBN 2024 merit list on the basis of the General Merit Rank. A JEPBN merit list for reserved category candidates was also released.

The JENPB 2024 eligibility criteria are given below:

• Candidates must have passed the Class 12 exam from a recognised Board and GNM course and obtained the registration / RNRM certificate from any State Nursing Council of any state of India.

• The upper age limit for those employed by the West Bengal State Govt. is 53 years (as on the last date of application). There is no upper age limit for candidates who are ESI/Central Government employees.

• Candidates who are presently employed by the West Bengal State Govt. should have at least 3 years qualifying uninterrupted / regularized experience in Govt. service by the last date of application.

• Candidates must be a citizen of India.

The exam conducting body West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board (WBJEEB), released the application form JEPBN on April 19, 2024. The last date for JEPBN 2024 registration was May 7, 2024. The JEPBN 2024 application process was conducted completely online.

After the JEPBN online form was filled the authorities released the window to modify the application form. The JEPBN 2024 application correction could be done between May 9 to 10, 2024. 

The first step was to register with the personal and contact details, which led to the generation of login credentials including the username and password. Candidates had to log in to fill out the complete application form by entering details such as academic details and qualifications, contact details, present employment details, uploading of photograph and signature, and payment of the application fee.

The JEPBN 2024 application fee was announced in the notification for the current academic year. However, the application fee for the previous year was INR 3,000 which was to be paid online through credit/debit card, and net banking.

The JEPBN exam will be conducted in one city, Kolkata, in the Salt Lake and New Town zones. The JEPBN exam centre will be notified to candidates on their admit card. Once the admit card is issued, they will not be able to request for change. Candidates will have to reach the stipulated centre for JEPBN 2024 at least an hour before the exam and would be allowed to leave only after the exam duration is over.

The JEPBN 2024 exam pattern states that it is an offline test of 90 minutes duration. It was conducted in the morning session only from 11 am to 12:30 pm. The total number of questions is 100. The questions were in MCQ format wherein each question carried four answer options. Candidates had to select the correct option by shading the circle next to the correct answer with an HB pencil. JEPBN Exam Marking Scheme

• Each correct answer will fetch one mark

• Each incorrect answer will lead to a deduction of 0.25 marks (¼ marks)

• Marking more than one answer option, even if one of them is correct, will be considered as a wrong answer and would lead to a negative marking.

• No answer will be deducted for non-attempt of questions.

The JEPBN 2024 admit card was released on June 21, 2024, in online mode. Only registered candidates were eligible to download the admit card by logging in through their registered credentials. The JEPBN admit card is a mandatory document that must be carried to the examination centre. The admit card or hall ticket of the JEPBN 2024 exam carries information regarding candidates’ personal details, exam date and time, exam centre address, and exam day guidelines.

How to Download JEPBN Admit Card 2024

Students can check the below-mentioned steps to download the hall ticket of JEPBN 2024. 

Step 1: Go to the official website of JEPBN or directly click on JEPBN Admit Card Link 

Step 2: First, choose the desired exam for which the admit card needs to be downloaded.

Step 3: Enter the login credentials i.e application number, password, and security pin

Step 4: The JEPBN 2024 hall ticket will appear on the screen.

Applicants are advised to take a print of the admit card and save it for future reference. 

WBJEEB released the JEPBN 2024 cutoff ranks and scores at the time of the result. Based on the JEPBN cutoff, candidates’ qualification status will be determined. The cutoff for JEPBN will depend on factors such as the number of test-takers, number of seats, and difficulty level of the exam, to name a few.

JEPBN 2024 Answer Keys

JEPBN 2024 answer keys were released by the exam conducting body 2-3 days after the exam concluded. Candidates can check and calculate their estimated scores. In case they find any discrepancy, they were allowed to submit the objections by paying a fee of INR 500 per question. The Board reviews and publishes the final and frozen answer keys. The last date to submit the objections was notified on the official website. The final answer key was released along with the result on the official website.
