All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi does not clearly define the AIIMS Nursing 2025 syllabus through the official notification. It only mentions the AIIMS Nursing exam pattern in the notification. As per the AIIMS Nursing 2025 exam pattern, 100 questions will be asked from four subjects which are Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and General Knowledge. However, the syllabus is based on the course defined in classes 11 and 12. 

Candidates preparing to appear for the BSc Nursing entrance exam should have completed class 12 from any recognized board with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology and should have a general sense of general knowledge relating to history, current affairs, general policy & scientific research. Applicants are advised to prepare from the NEET syllabus to get a complete idea about the syllabus and prepare for the exam accordingly. 

This year AIIMS BSc Nursing (Hons.) and BSc (Post Basic) entrance exams will be conducted on June 1, 2025 and June 21, 2025 respectively. Read the upcoming sections to know more about the AIIMS BSc Nursing exam syllabus 2025.

A:

The AIIMS BSc nursing syllabus is based on the couse curriculum of class 11 and class 12. It is decided by AIIMS, Delhi, i.e. the exam conducting body of AIIMS BSc nursing programme.

Q:   Who conducts AIIMS Nursing entrance exams for Nursing Courses?

A:

All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi conducts AIIMS BSc (Hons) nursing, BSc (Post-Basic) nursing and BSc (Paramedical) entrance exam annually to grant admission to all AIIMS campuses offering nursing course. The entrance exam is generally conducted in the month of May every year. The conducting body uses a two-stage method for registration to BSc nursing programme. The first is through the PAAR (Prospective Applicants Advanced Registration) system, a new AIIMS method. The second is through basic registration, followed by the Generation of Code and Final Registration.

A:

In General Knowledge section, questions from topics such as General policy & scientific research, Current Affairs, History, Geography, and Culture are asked in the exam. In additon to the GK section in which 10 questions will be asked, candidates are advised to prepare Physics, chemistry, biology/mathematics section that will carry 30 questions each.

There are four sections in AIIMS BSc nursing exam named Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and General Knowledge. There will be 70 questions overall for which candidates will be provided 120 minutes to solve the paper. It will be an online exam carrying objective-type questions.

Q:   Has the AIIMS Nursing exam pattern changed?

A:

There is no official intimation about the change in AIIMS Nursing 2025 exam pattern yet. Until last year, there was no change in the exam pattern. AIIMS New Delhi conducts the national level entrance exam to facilitate admission into the BSc Nursing and Post Basic BSc Nursing, the eligibility criteria and the pattern of both the exam will be different.

Q:   What will be the duration of the AIIMS Nursing 2025 exam? Will extra time be granted?

A:

AIIMS Nursing exam for the BSc Nursing programme will be a 120-minute long exam and the Post Basic Nursing exam will be 90 minutes long. No extra time will be given to the candidates under any circumstances. Candidates will only be able to leave the examination hall once the exam time is over. It is important to reach the test centre 30 minutes before the reporting time.

AIIMS nursing 2025 BSc (Post basic) exam candidates have to follow a two-stage selection process. The two stages are:

Stage 1: Written examination, and

Stage 2: Personal Interview/Assessment

Stage 2: Personal Interview/Assessment Scheme

Candidates who will be able to make it to the merit list based on the written exam will be called for the personal interview/assessment round. The second stage will have a weightage of 30 marks. The final merit list will decide the fate of the candidate based on their performance in both stages. Almost three times more candidates will be invited for the interview than the actual number of available seats. The assessment process will count the following criteria

  • Past academic record in the Higher Secondary or 12 or equivalent examination
  • Past academic record in the Nursing examination
  • Performance as a Staff Nurse
