BSc DU Admissions

The University of Delhi (DU) is one of India's most prestigious institutions, renowned for its academic excellence, particularly in the sciences. The BSc programmes at DU are designed to provide a strong foundation in scientific concepts and research methodologies.

The University of Delhi provides the best degree in BSc courses. Some of the top BSc colleges at DU are Miranda House, Hansraj, Sri Venkateswara College, Daulat Ram, Deshbandhu, Kirori Mal College and many more. Admissions for the BSc programmes offered at the University of Delhi is done through the CUET entrance exam every year. Interested candidates, willing to apply for Delhi University at more than 90 DU-affiliated colleges must register for CUET exams and appear for the same. CUET UG test-takers will then have to register on Delhi University’s Common Seat Allocation System (CSAS) portal for seat allocation.

Q:   Is DU admission open?

A:

DU admission for 2025 will open soon. Currently, the applications are open for PhD programme till Dec 10, 2024. Admission in Delhi University is based on CUET-UG and CUET-PG scores. Below are the upcoming events for DU admission:

  • The CUET PG registration process 2025 for admission to PG courses is expected to begin during the last week of Dec 2024, tentatively.
  • The CUET UG registration process 2025 for admission to UG courses will commence tentatively during the last week of Feb 2025. The CUET UG 2025 exam dates will be announced soon.

Q:   What is the admission process for MCA in DU?

A:

The application process for all the postgraduate programmes of Delhi University, including the MCA is given below:

Step 1: Register on the official website.

Step 2: Under the 'Login details' section, applicants must fill in all the relevant details.

Step 3: A confirmation link will be generated.

Step 4: Click on the link to confirm registration.

Step 5: Log in with the PASSWORD and the new USERNAME (e-mail ID) on the email.

Step 6: Upload the necessary documents.

Step 7: Click on the Submit button.

 

Q:   What is the DU selection process for B.Ed programme?

A:

Candidates can apply for DU admission via Common University Entrance Test (CUET). Before applying for the course, aspirants must check out the eligibility requirements. To apply students can visit NTA official website. After the entrance test, the cutoff marks are made available beind the login on the official samarth portal of the university. At the time of CUET registration, aspirants must selection DU as a preference.

The University of Delhi provides admissions to the 29 BSc degree programmes in various sub-domains of Science like formal and natural sciences. BSC DU Admission Process 2024

Candidates interested in taking admission to the BSc programmes offered by the University of Delhi, need to appear in the CUET UG examination which is being conducted by the NTA, (National Testing Agency) every year. Right from registration like filling out the application form, paying the application fee, selection examination city preferences, and selection of the university in which candidates need to take enrolment will be done on the CUET UG web portal ie., CUET UG Samarth portal- cuetug.ntaonline.in/.

Filling out the CUET UG application form, admit card download, appearing in the examination and result download will be done under the NTA body, not by the DU officials. However, candidates who have taken CUET UG examination and wish to enrol in the University of Delhi, have to separately apply to the DU CUET UG counselling registration available on the DU official website ie., the DU CSAS UG portal. The release of the BSc DU cut-off, opening and closing rank list of the participating colleges in Delhi University will be administered by the DU, admission branch.

Q:   What programs does CUET UG provide admission for?

A:

CUET UG is conducted for admission to more than 260 universities across India. List of programs offered through CUET UG are:

Q:   How many courses are offered through CUET UG?

A:

CUET UG scores are accepted by more than 150 universities across India. The number of UG courses offered through CUET UG varies from university to university. Top central university like Delhi University offers 79 UG courses, BHU offers 18 UG courses and so forth. Candidates seeking admission to central, state, private or deemed universities throiugh CUET scores must check the list of courses offered and eligibility for each course.

Q:   Can I get direct admission to DU for MCom?

A:

The admission process for MCom at Delhi University up until 2021 was offered across two categories: Direct Admission and Through Entrance Test. Also, along with the entrance exam, interview rounds were also conducted for admission to Delhi University PG programmes.

There was no minimum age limit to take admission to the MSc programme offered by the university. However, DU PG admission 2022-23 was subject to a valid score in DUET as announced by the University. Starting 2023, the admission process of DU for its postgraduate courses, such as MA, MSc and MCom will be subject to the CUET-PG exam conducted by NTA.

After the results, qualified students will be required to appear for the seat allocation process conducted by the university for final seat allotment. While there is no information on direct admission on the official website of DU or its affiliated colleges students are advised to visit the admission office for more details on the same. 

Q:   How can I get admission in DU for LLM?

A:

Candidates need to first register for LLM course to the begin admission process. Below is the DU admission process for LLM programme:

Step 1: DU LLM Application Process 2025

Aspirants meeting the eligibility condition can apply online. They need to fill out the application form, upload documents and pay the application fee.

Step 2: Entrance Exam/ Selection

DU accepts CUET PG score for admission to LLM course. The faculty of Law conducts LLM Entrance Test in online mode for a duration of two hours for shortlisting aspirants for LLM admission. 

Step 3: Counselling

All admissions will be made after physical or online counselling. The shortlisted candidates are called for counselling and document verification. After verification, candidates need to pay a course fee to confirm their seat in the university.

In order to admissions to the BSc degree courses offered at Delhi University, candidates need to appear in the CUET UG exam. To do the same, they need to fill out the CUET UG application form which is available on the CUET UG official website. 

At first, candidates need to create an account for themselves as this account will be used for all the event-specific processes (application form, city intimation slip, admit card and result).

Candidates will be required to pay the CUET UG registration fee, select the exam city preferences, the course to apply, the university name to get enrolled and upload the required documents to successfully submit the CUET UG application form.

Pattern

CUET UG will have Section 1A, Section 1B, General Test, and domain-specific subjects. Section 1A, which will be compulsory, will be conducted in 13 languages and candidates will be given the option to choose the language of their choice.

  • Section IA, IB- Language: 40 questions to be attempted out of 50 in each language

Language to be tested through Reading Comprehension based on different types of passages–Factual, Literary and Narrative, (Literary Aptitude and Vocabulary)

  • Section II- Domain Specific: 40 questions to be attempted out of 50 in each language

Input text can be used for MCQ Based Questions. MCQs are based on the NCERT Class 12 syllabus only.

  • Section III- General Test: 50 Questions to be attempted out of 60

Input text can be used for MCQ Based Questions. General Knowledge, Current Affairs, General Mental Ability, Numerical Ability, Quantitative Reasoning (Simple application of basic mathematical concepts arithmetic/algebra geometry/mensuration/s tat taught till Grade 8), Logical and Analytical Reasoning.

Syllabus

NTA will release the CUET UG syllabus for the students preparing for the BSc courses. The CUET UG syllabus will help the candidates in knowing the topics that they need to prepare for the examination. The domain-specific syllabus will contain topics from Class 12.

City Intimation Slip/ Admit Card

The CUET city intimation slip is a document which is released ahead of the release of the admit card, mentioning the city where their allotted CUET UG 2025 centre is located.

The CUET UG admit card is an online document that acts as the hall ticket to the centre and carries candidates' personal and exam paper details. Candidates will have to log in to the exam website and download the hall ticket in PDF format.

Exam Day  CUET 2025 will be held in the third week of May 2025. NTA will release the CUET 2025 exam complete schedule. The examination will be conducted tentatively in a 7-day window. CUET number of slots and dates may vary depending on the number of candidates who will register for the exam and the subjects chosen.
Provisional Answer Key CUET UG provisional answer key will be released within two weeks after the successful conduction of the CUET ug examination. Candidates will be able to raise objections against the released CUET ug provisional answer key. CUET Answer Key: Download Set-wise Final Answer Key 
Final Answer Key CUET UG Final Answer key will be released by NTA before the declaration of CUET Result. NTA CUET final answer key announced by the NTA can not be further challenged. Test takers can visit the official website of CUET and download the final answer key to tally their final scores in the CUET Examination.   
Result To download the NTA scorecard PDF candidates must enter the application number and date of birth. NTA will also share the CUET subject-wise number of students who appeared for exam, qualified candidates and the name of the toppers along with the CUET result. Candidates can calculate their final score using CUET final answer key. Candidates can download the CUET answer key PDF for online and offline examinations. Counselling

After getting the CUET UG results, candidates interested in taking admission in Delhi University need to register for the counselling process which is being held by the university itself. 

 In this phase, candidates must log in using his/her DU CSAS dashboard and choose the programme he/she is willing to take admission in. Candidates must ensure to give his/her order of preference of program and colleges for every UG programme selected.

It is in the interest of the candidate to choose as many programs as he/she wishes to join, provided he/she fulfils the programme specific eligibility criteria.

After entering the preference for college and program, candidates must confirm the order of preferences by clicking on the tab ‘Submit’ on or before the last date of preference-filling.
