Yes, applicants who want to appear in the UPCATET 2024 exam must be a citizen of Uttar Pradesh state. According to the UPCATET eligibility criteria, the applicant must be

  2. Such citizens of India whose father’s residence or place of origin is UP and he/she also belong to UP.

This entrance exam is conducted for the candidates who possess the domicile of Uttar Pradesh State. These courses are offered at Chandra Shekhar Azad University of Agriculture & Technology, Kanpur; Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel University of Agriculture and Technology, Meerut; Narendra Deva University of Agriculture and Technology, Kumarganj, Banda University of Agriculture and Technology, Banda etc.  The UPCATET exam conducted for three hours duration and the test mode is offline (pen & paper) only.

UPCATET 2024 Application Process

UPCATET 2024 online registration for the session 2024 started on March 17, 2024, in online mode. Candidates could fill out the UPCATET 2024 application form till May 17, 2024. For UPCATET 2024 registrations, candidates had to fill the application form in online mode on the official website of the exam.

Students first had to visit the official website click on the 'New Registration' tab and then click on the 'I agree' checkbox. Upon clicking on 'New Registration tab, candidates had to fill up their basic details including contact details followed by which the registration credentials were generated. After this, they had to login and fill up the complete UPCATET application form and pay the application fee. Candidates had to pay the application fee online (via net banking/ debit card).

UPCATET Eligibility Criteria

The eligibility criteria for UPCATET 2024 for different courses i.e BSc and BFSc is given below:

  • BSc (Honours) Agriculture/ BSc (Honours) Horticulture/ BSc (Honours) Forestry: Candidates should have cleared Class 12 with Agricultural Science/ Physics, Chemistry, Biology (PCB)/ Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics (PCM)/ Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Biology (PCMB) subject to meet UPCATET eligibility criteria.
  • Bachelor in Fisheries Science (BFSc): Candidates should have cleared Class 12 with Agricultural Science/ Physics, Chemistry, Biology (PCB)/ Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Biology (PCMB) subject to meet UPCATET 2024 eligibility criteria.
  • BSc (Honours) Home Science: Candidates should have cleared Class 12 in the Arts stream with Home Science/ PCB/ PCM/ PCMB/ Agricultural Science subject to be eligible for UPCATET exam. Only female candidates can opt for this course, informs the official website.

Age limit: As of December 31, 2024, candidates should be more than 16 years and less than 22 years in age. However, for the BVSc & H course, candidates should be minimum 17 years and maximum 25 years in age as of December 31, 2024. It may be noted that candidates belonging to SC/ ST/ OBC category have an age relaxation of five years for any course they apply for.

Step 2: Click on New Registration and fill in details including mobile number, email id, educational qualification, and click on the submit button.

Step 4: Now enter the registration number fill all other details and upload all the required documents. 

Step 5: At last pay the application fee and submit the UPCATET 2024 application form

Q:   Is there any eligibility criteria to apply UPCATET 2024 exam?

A:

There are different eligibility criteria decided by the exam conducting authorities whcih includes both age as well as education for UG courses. There is no age limit for PG and PhD courses.  

For BVSC & H course the minimum and maximum age limit of candidate need to be 17 and 25 by Decemeber 31st 2024. While for all other course the minimum and maximum age limit of candidate need to be 16 and 22 by Decemeber 31st 2024 for CUPCATET 2024 exam. 

Note: Person with Disability (PwD) will be given a relexation of 5 years in upper age limit.
