Overall experience in AIIMS Kalyani.
Placements: The placement thing doesn't exist in medical college. You have to do a mandatory internship of 1 year after passing the final year. In AIIMS, the stipend for the internship is 30k/month. Everyone gets a job after graduation. The average salary for a fresher ranges from 8-10 Lacs per annum. In central institutes or Delhi, it is 1.2 Lacs per month.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is top-notch. We have Wi-Fi in our classrooms, canteen, library, and hospital building. Labs are fully equipped with state-of-the-art facilities. The central library has all the necessary books and online access to journals. The hostel you will get is mostly a single room with an attached washroom equipped with a geyser. The room is well-furnished. The mess is common for boys and girls, and the food is decent. We have a cricket ground, football ground, basketball court, indoor badminton court, table tennis, chess, and carrom board.
Faculty: Yes, the teachers are very experienced and knowledgeable. The teaching quality is top-notch, as expected from AIIMS. The course curriculum is followed according to the NMC guidelines. Semester exams are of moderate level. If you study consistently, you are going to pass the exam.
Other: I chose it as it was my childhood dream. I just wish the toxicity in this field could be reduced. We do have an annual fest and an academic fest. We celebrate every festival, be it Onam, Pongal, Diwali, Eid, Saraswati Puja, or Christmas. The campus surroundings are not that much developed. If you want to hang out, Kolkata is 50-60 km away.

Good academics with great infrastructure.
Placements: 50% placement, as it is a medical college, so a compulsory internship is guaranteed. If someone doesn't get a job, it's their own choice as they opt for preparing for a PG seat. Otherwise, it's very easy to get a job as a junior doctor; if someone is a junior doctor in AIIMS, they earn a min pay of 1 lac. It varies in other state-run medical colleges; salaries of junior doctors in state-run government colleges are within 70000.
Infrastructure: We get a single occupancy room from the second year onwards with a study table, a chair, a side table, a bookshelf, a cupboard, and an attached bathroom. The rooms are well lit for ease of studying, libraries are open till 12 at night, fully air-conditioned, and state-of-the-art lecture theatres are there. Wi-Fi is in the library and college, not present in hostel premises, although many students are paying for their own Wi-Fi that they set up in their rooms.
Faculty: All the faculty members are superqualified; for complicated topics, we get integrated classes too. Faculty mentors are assigned to each student to help them deal with their personal and academic issues. Students interested in research projects can get help from any faculty they want to get help from. This help has led many to get huge scholarships too. Exams are the most hectic part of our life: too many exams and too large of a syllabus, but it's important if we want to become great doctors, and after some time you get habituated anyway. It's very difficult to pass the first few semesters, but later on, when you get the hang of it, it gets easier.
Other: The need to earn money while being a helping hand to someone has led me to become a doctor, but as time passes I realize money is still secondary, and it's the helping people part that gives you more worth as a person. Regular fests are being held, and many celebrities are called; we enjoy these times.

AIIMS Kalyani: The absolute heaven .
Placements: After completing 4 years of MBBS, we are placed for an internship in our own college for 30,070 Rs per month for a year. Thereafter we can join as non-academic JRs in our college or sit for INI CET to get PG seats in any of the AIIMS. The average salary is around 1 lac per month.
Infrastructure: The library is open from 8 am to 12 am and is affiliated with Wi-Fi facilities. The canteen is attached to it. Classrooms and libraries, as well as canteens, have centralized AC. Classrooms have a capacity of 150 students and are well lighted and well furnished. Hostel rooms are single and great. Canteen food is amazing. Sports and extracurricular activities are taken special care of.
Faculty: Teachers are well qualified and maintain strict discipline. They are helpful and well acquainted with modern methods of teaching. The entire course consists of 9 semesters, and questions are very practical-oriented to help better understanding and patient care.
Other: This is a noble profession, and I always wanted to be a doctor. Academic pressure is a little bit high, but I manage to do it by not compromising fun. There are lots of fests and events, and each festival of different religions and regions is celebrated with great enthusiasm.

Satisfied with faculty, an excellent college!

AIIMS Kalyani—a future powerhouse of medical education in the making
Placements: The college does not hold any placement programs like engineering colleges, but MBBS is such a field that, after passing out, you will never complain of unemployment. There are ample opportunities after MBBS; you can pursue an MD or MS, or you can join any medical college as a medical officer or non-academic JR and earn decent money. You can even practice in a private setting.
Infrastructure: AIIMS Kalyani, being an institute of national importance, boasts state-of-the-art infrastructure along with ample facilities for students. Each and every department is centrally air-conditioned, with all modern equipment and an ample quantity of equipment for students. Wi-Fi is available for free throughout the campus for students. There is a central library, which is truly huge, with separate cubicles for each student. There are 3 canteens and 1 student mess on campus. The hostels provided here are top-notch. For the 1st and 2nd years, double-occupancy rooms are given, while single rooms with attached washrooms are given for the 3rd and 4th years. Each student is provided with a separate B.Ed. mattress, wardrobe, wall wardrobe, side table, dustbin, study table, and chair. The hostel is cleaned every day.
Faculty: You have to crack the NEET exam to get into this college. AIIMS, being a central institute, selects faculty members with lots of filters, and they truly possess one of the best faculty members in India. Till today, not a single class has been skipped by any faculty. All the faculty members excel in their own fields and focus a lot on research. The academic curriculum is a bit rigid and thorough since you are going to come out as an AIIMS doctor, so they truly focus a lot more on your clinical skills.
Other: Each batch comprises only 125 students, so the student-teacher ratio is really good. There are various clubs: Scientific Society, Quiz Club, Literary Club, Cultural Club, Art Club, and Sports Club. They conduct various events throughout the year. There is an intra-college Annual day is held every year, where all students are divided into 4 houses and various competitions are organized. Also, in April every year, the annual socio-cultural inter-college fest is held, where students from all over India come to participate. Total footfall lies around 3000–4000. The only downside that I see of this college is that its location is on the outskirts of the main Kalyani city, and it is 50 km away from Kolkata.
