Candidates need to complete bachelor's degree in Tamil/ English/ Physics/ Chemistry/ Mathematics/ Botany/ Zoology/ History with at least 55% aggregate for OC (45% aggregate for BC, 43% aggregate for MBC and 40% aggregate in SC/ ST) to apply for Alagappa University B.Ed course. Aspirants must have the documents proving their eligibility for verification at later stages of admission.

It is not possible to apply for a B.Ed course immediately after completing Class 12. Eligibility for B.Ed requires a graduation or post-graduation degree. However, individuals interested in pursuing a teaching career right after Class 12 can opt for a Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed) course. B.Ed is a professional programme designed for graduates or postgraduates; hence, those aspiring to become teachers after completing Class 12 can undertake a Diploma in Elementary Teaching. Upon completion of D.El.Ed, they can qualify as elementary teachers.

Alagappa University conducts an entrance exam to select candidates for B.Ed programme. The entrance test is conducted at Karaikudi only. Once the results are out, aspirants are selected based on their score in the entrance exam. The university then offers seats to the selected candidates.

The university is recognised by University Grants Commission (UGC). Further, Distance Education Council (DEC) accorded Ex-Post Facto has approved over 100 distance courses of the university. Hence, Alagappa University B.Ed distance degree is valid. 

Alagappa University B.Ed couse curriculum is a two-year course, which is spread across four specialisations. The curriculum include semester-wise course syllbus. Each of subjects included are of the field of Education. Some of the subjects included in Alagappa University B.Ed couse curriculum are:

No, Alagappa University BSc course admission is merit-based. Candidates are admitted to the UG programmes based on merit in the last qualifying examination, i.e., Class 12. The university or its affiliated colleges may release a cutoff list to declare the minimum aggregate.

However, for the BSc in Nautical Sciences course, candidates shall have a valid score of IMUCET. This programme is offered by Coimbatore Marine College. Also, admission to BSc in Physical Education course is done based on candidates performance in the Medical Test, Physical Efficiency Test, and Games Test marks.

The last date to apply at Alagappa University Admission 2024 for entrance-based and non-entrance-based courses is usually in May. Currently, the applications are open for admission 2024. Candidates can apply for B.Ed and MCA till May 20, 2024. For MBA and MCA, the applications are open till May 27, 2024.

Candidates applying for non-entrance exam courses can fill out the application form till May 31, 2024. The mode of application is online. Hence, candidates must visit the official website to fill out the form. 

The online IMU CET application form will be out in March 2025, tentatively. The official date for application form and other events will be announced by the Indian Martime University. Candidates can apply for IMU CET 2025 through Online mode only. The link is made available on IMU’s website. The IMU CET online application form consists of three portions:

• Academic Details
• Payment Details

Candidates have to fill in these three portions. Once the payment is successful, the candidate’s dashboard will appear, from which they can download the filled-in application.

At the Alagappa University, three BSc courses of three-year duration are offered. Admission to all the courses is merit-based, except for Physical Education course. Candidates must first apply for their preferred course on the official website of the university. Alagappa university admission is both entrance and merit-based, depending upon the nature of the programme. The university conducts an entrance exam for admission to B.Ed, MBA, MCA and MSc. Once selected, candidates are offered seat in the university based on their merit. They need to confirm their seat by paying the course fee.
