Annamalai University M.Sc. Highlights 2023
Annamalai University's flagship programme, MSc is of two-year duration, spread across four academic semesters. Applicants, lying between the age of 20-28 years as of 1st July of the admission year, are eligible for admission. A relaxation of five years is granted to SC/ SCA/ ST candidates. Selection of candidates to the below-mentioned MSc specialisations is made on the basis of their performance in the previous qualifying degree/ exam, followed by a university-conducted PI round.

Good ambience, easy transport, and good teachers available.
Placements: In 7th semester, you will be eligible for placement. If there is no campus, our teachers will prepare you to be a brilliant and talented candidate so you can easily crack off-campus placement for any job. 60% of students get placements. From 7th semester, students are eligible for campus placement. The placement companies are Royal Enfield, TCS, INDUSTRY, etc. Students with no arrears are eligible for placement. After completing my degree, I am going to study for government exams.
Infrastructure: Techofes is the annual cultural festival of the college, held in mid-February. The range of books and journals is available in the library. Medical library and university library are available in Annamalai University, Chidambaram. Nice environment, eco-friendly hostels, RO water, indoor games, outdoor games, and gym facilities are available. Good food and tasty meals, with non-veg served twice a week. The registration process is very easy, and online registration is also available, with fees ranging from 10,000 to 20,000 for three months.
Faculty: Our faculty members are very honorable, and they are also friendly with every student. Our teachers guide each student like friends. I like all our faculty members. There are a total of 8 semesters, and each semester has four CA exams and lab exams. Those who do not attend classes will definitely not clear the exams.

Faculty was good. Good environment to study.
Placements: Placement opportunities from our university are really good. Most of our seniors are getting jobs. It is an institution where students compete for studying, and those few who get admission in this university and study hard are truly fortunate for getting a job.
Infrastructure: It's a well-accomplished room with an attached bathroom. The room is comfortable for three students. The hostel mess has a special menu for each of the seven days, and they also provide snacks during the evening time. The registration process is very simple; we can register in the hostel office within 30 minutes. My native district is Dharmapuri, and the college is located in Chidambaram, so I stay in the hostel.
Faculty: The course curriculum is very detailed and structured in a way to give maximum benefits to the students. There are a total of eight electives spread over two years, with two electives per semester: 1. Mushroom Biology, 2. Ecology Diversity, 3. Forestry Ecology, 4. Fungal Bio Systematics, 5. Plant Protection, 6. Applied Algal Microbiology, 7. Limnology, and 8. Forestry Seed Technology.

Green appearance and fresh campus.
Placements: From the last semester of the degree, the students are eligible for placement. Before placement, students undergo training by the trainees which is offered by our college. There are many companies more than 20 will visit our college for offering the students. Companies like Infosys, zifo pharma company, focus Industries Amazon, Quite Incense, and Justdial. The package is around 4-5 lacs per annum. The college offers 100 percent placement. I'm interested in doing my higher studies (Ph.D. ).
Infrastructure: It's well-accomplished room with an attached Bathroom. The room is comfortable for 3 students. The hostel mess has a special menu for each of the 7 days. They also provide snacks during evening time. The registration process is very simple. We can register in the hostel office within 30 minds. My Native District is Dharmapuri. The college is located in Chidambaram. So I used to stay in a hostel. Hostel Fee: INR 45000 per year.
Faculty: I have an interest in the research field, and In the current situation, we need to know all the criteria that affect human so as to know about the microorganisms and their cases. Faculty are soft-hearted people, well professional, they guide us in the good path in studies, they are well-experienced faculty it's our main benefit. They are our pillars of strength. The way of teaching is awesome we can learn easily from them. They take us in chalk and talk method so we can able to deliver the knowledge. Class size is 65 and course fees is INR 34000 per year.

The hostel warden is very good in nature.
Placements: This university provides courses like Masters, M.Phil Pre-Ph.D, Ph.D. These courses are aimed at providing a career in a broad research field or will help you be a lecturer. Many of the students have been appointed in many national-level research labs as JRF or SRF. Many students have been appointed as lecturers or assistant professors after qualifying for NET, GATE or SSB. Many freshers have qualified NET and GATE and they are definitely going to be appointed as JRF in different institutes in the future days or they may select lectureship as their professions.
Infrastructure: There are so many rooms in our hostel. Some room contains 4-person facilities some contains 6 and some contains 10-room facilities. According to the members of the room, there will be fans a table, and a cot. Menu like sambar rasam curd and some vegetables as a side dish weekly nonveg in our menu. Hostel Fee : INR 50000 per year.
Faculty: I chose botany because I always have had an interest in sciences related to life but rejected Zoology because I can not SEE the dissection of animals. Botany is also the subject I love most and its practical are easy to perform at home even. And have a special interest in medicinal plants. The Faculty is sufficient to take classes in both years. Three teachers for 2 classes. So I can say the ratio for faculty to students is nearly 1:25. Well-qualified teachers with Ph.D. and qualified SET, GATE. Teaching methods are good to relate with day-to-day and keep the focus on the syllabus. Examinations every 2nd month in between these Tests are also held. Examination moderate equally tough questions and easy. Class size is 59 and course fees is INR 38000 per year.

Very good institution for Aquaculture course with good faculty, placements & infrastructure.
Placements: Several companies like CPF India, Godrej Agrovet, etc. used to come for campus interviews. In 2021, most of the students got jobs. Companies offer good salary packages. The average basic pay is about 18k-21k. Apart from this, companies give them DA, TA and HRA.
Infrastructure: Separate boys & girls hostels are there. The infrastructure is really good. They provide good food, drinking water, playground & other recreation facilities. There is also a canteen for fast food & some necessary things like soap, sanitary pad and notebooks are also available.
Faculty: Faculty members are really helpful and student friendly. They always support students in studies as well as other things. The main thing are practical classes which are taken by experienced professors. There is also a good library. The examination system is also good ( 2 Internals + 1 University exam).
Other: This course is very useful for getting jobs. Coastal Aquaculture is one of the best courses in fisheries industry. Day by day, the demand is increasing, so I recommend everyone to join in this course.

I suggest this university to students because of its minimum budget.
Placements: Placements were low compared with other departments. Roles offered were medical representatives or business executives. The average salary offered ranges between Rs.10,000 per month and Rs.15,000 per month.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure was top-class. It provided a big library in India and Wi-Fi was enabled on campus. Classrooms were better. It also provided a big indoor and outdoor stadium. The hostel infrastructure was good and the food quality was not fine.
Faculty: Our course curriculum was relevant and it made students ready for the industry. The subject was growing on a daily basis so they should update properly. Semester exams were not difficult. Teachers were not helpful but few of them were knowledgeable and well-qualified.
Other: I opted for this course because of my interest since childhood. The best thing about this course was that we can understand the life and living system better. We were doing old practical techniques which was not currently used in any industries or research laboratory. This college should focus on improving the course curriculum of practicals. Overall, this university encouraged everyone to perform extracurricular activities. Scholarships were also provided to meritorious students.
