On Fees and Eligibility

Q:   Which entrance exam scores does Central Agricultural University Manipur accept for admission to M.Tech?

A:

The entrance exams accepted by Central Agricultural University Manipur (CAU Manipur) for admission to M.Tech programs can vary depending on the specific specialisation you're interested in. Here's a breakdown to help you navigate the exam landscape:

National Level Exams:

  • ICAR AIEEA (All India Entrance Examination for Agricultural Engineering): This is a widely accepted exam for M.Tech admissions in agricultural engineering disciplines at CAU Manipur,  including Food Engineering,  Agricultural Processing and Food Engineering,  Soil and Water Engineering,  etc..
  • GATE (Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering): While primarily focused on core engineering disciplines,  some M.Tech programs at CAU Manipur,  like Agricultural Structures and Environmental Engineering,  might consider GATE scores alongside other criteria.

University-Specific Exams:

  • CAU Manipur Entrance Test (C-MET): The university might conduct its own entrance test for certain M.Tech programs,  particularly those with niche specializations or limited intake.

Selection Criteria:

  • Entrance Exam Scores: Scores in ICAR AIEEA,  GATE,  or C-MET,  whichever is applicable,  hold significant weightage in the selection process. Cutoff scores vary based on programme and competition.
  • B.Tech Percentage: Your academic performance in the B.Tech degree,  often measured by aggregate marks,  also plays a role in the selection process. Minimum percentage requirements might exist for some specializations.

A:

Whether you can get admission into Central Agricultural University Manipur (CAU Manipur) for B.Tech with 60% in Class 12th depends on several factors, making it difficult to predict with certainty. Here's a breakdown to help you assess your chances:

Challenges:

  • Competitive programs: B.Tech programs at CAU Manipur,  particularly popular specializations like Agriculture Engineering or Food Technology,  attract high competition from students across India.
  • Entrance exams: While CAU Manipur might consider Class 12th marks for B.Tech admissions,  some programs might require qualifying scores in entrance exams like JEE Main or the university's internal entrance test.
  • Minimum eligibility: Some specializations might have a minimum percentage requirement in Class 12th board exams,  exceeding 60%.

However, there are still possibilities:

  • Reservation categories: If you belong to reserved categories (SC,  ST,  OBC,  PwD),  the cut-off scores for admission might be lower,  providing an advantage.
  • Other components: Depending on the selection process,  CAU Manipur might consider factors like performance in personal interviews or weightage given to specific subjects in your Class 12th marks,  potentially improving your chances with a 60% overall score.
  • Alternative programs: Certain B.Tech programs at CAU Manipur might be less competitive compared to others,  increasing your potential for admission with a 60% in Class 12th.

Satisfied because of faculty and it also comes under Central government. Placement rate is medium.
Placements: About 70% of students were placed in a good company or got government jobs. The packages depend on the job, what type of job they got, Minimum is between 3.0 LPA package and 4.7LPA. I have no idea about the recruiting companies. My course offers all the various agriculture related subjects like agronomy, soil science and plant pathology, etc. 60% students got internships.
Infrastructure: Labs, classroom and Library all are good. Free Wi-Fi available is available all over the hostel. Grounds are available that helps in gaining the practical knowledge. There is a canteen available on the campus, Mess food is good. A Health center also available on the campus. Playground, Gymnasium, Football ground, Volleyball ground are also available.
Faculty: The teachers are helpful, they are very good. All teachers are well educated and friendly to the students. Digital classroom teaching is also available. Practicals are also done. Yes, this course's curriculum is relevant.  It can make the students industry-ready, but first of all, you need experience for that.

Many people will dislike this college because of lack of proper infrastructure.
Placements: The percentage of students who got placed in our course ranged from 60% to 90%. The highest package was 90%, the lowest was 60%, and the average was 70%. The top roles offered were agriculture officer, agribusiness, agri farm, and horticulture officer.
Infrastructure: The college is in a remote area far from any developed towns or cities. The nearby villages are underdeveloped, which means that we face a wide range of problems, including network issues, lack of academic infrastructure, and poor living conditions. The college does not yet have a canteen for students, and the hostel food is only average.
Faculty: The teachers here are not very good at teaching, although a few are quite good. Most of the teachers take their jobs lightly. The semester exams are quite easy if you study properly. The college promotes practical learning by planting trees and plants to beautify the campus.

Admission FAQs

Q:   Can I get B.Tech at Central Agricultural University Manipur with 75 percentile in TJEE?

A:

Whether you can secure a B.Tech seat at Central Agricultural University Manipur (CAU Manipur) with a 75 percentile score in TJEE (Technical Universities' Joint Entrance Examination) depends on several factors:

Competition and programme cutoff:

  • Competition: B.Tech programs at CAU Manipur,  especially popular specializations like Agricultural Engineering or Food Technology,  can attract high competition from students across India.
  • Cutoff variations: Cutoff scores for each B.Tech programme can vary significantly year-to-year depending on the number of applicants,  difficulty level of the entrance exam,  and available seats.
  • Reservation categories: Seats are reserved for different categories (SC,  ST,  OBC,  PwD) as per government regulations,  impacting the cutoff scores for the general category.

TJEE vs. CAU Manipur admission process:

  • While TJEE is a recognised entrance exam for B.Tech admissions in many universities,  CAU Manipur might have its own selection process for B.Tech programs.
  • They might consider a combination of factors like TJEE scores,  Class 12th Board exam marks,  personal interviews,  and weightage allocated to each component.
