CMI Entrance Exam 2025: Application form, Exam Date, Eligibility, Pattern, Syllabus & Other Details

The Chennai Mathematical Institue (CMI) conducts a written entrance exam at a national level for offering admissions in Bachelor of Science (BSc) courses in Mathematics, Computer Sciences and Physics and, the Master of Science (MSc) in Mathematics, Computer Sciences, Data Sciences. The entrance exam is conducted for a duration of three hours wherein candidates have to solve and write answers in the space provided. The exam pattern and syllabus of the CMI entrance exam are different for all courses. 

The main areas of research at CMI are Mathematics, Computer Science and Physics. In addition to a vibrant PhD programme, the Institute conducts BSc programmes in Mathematics and Computer Science as well as Mathematics and Physics, along with MSc programmes in Mathematics, Applications of Mathematics and Computer Science.

Step 1: Apply for CMI Exam 2025 - Candidates has to apply for the CMI entrance exam in online or offline mode as under:

• To apply online, candidates needed to visit the official website of CMI.
• To apply in offline mode, candidates had to request for 'offline application' from the institute. 

Step 2: Download Admit Cards - Candidates who will submit their application forms along with the fee will be issued the admit card for the CMI entrance exam 2025. The admit card mentioned details about the candidate, test details, and the allotted exam centre.  

Step 3: Appear for CMI Entrance Exam - Candidates has to appear for the written entrance exam conducted by CMI at the allotted test centres. Candidates has to reach the test centres at least an hour before the exam timings. Moreover, they had to carry a valid photo ID proof along with the admit card issued to them. 

Step 4: Result declaration and Selection Rounds - After the results are declared, CMI will start the interview rounds in Chennai to select candidates.

The CMI Entrance Exam 2025 application form will be released in the first week of March 2025, tentatively and will be available in online mode only. Candidates have to first register by entering their email ID. They received further instructions by email including the username and password. They have to log in and then fill out the application form with their personal and academic details, select programme and exam centres and upload documents. The application fee of INR 1,000 will be paid through Credit/Debit Card, Net Banking or UPI. At the completion of the process, they must take a printout of the application confirmation.

CUET PG 2025 Exam Pattern will consist of 16 questions which will be of 100 marks and the question paper would be divided into two parts. Part A would consist of 40 marks and Part B will consist of 60 marks. The question paper of all undergraduate courses will carry weightage as under:

The Chennai Mathematical Institute (CMI) will share the syllabus for the CMI entrance exam 2025 for each subject. CMI entrance exam 2025 will be held in a pen-paper based test mode for all courses. CMI Entrance Exam 2025 Test Centres

The exam is expected to be  conducted in 37 cities across India. Candidates has to choose the exam city as per their preference while filling out the application form. The final allocation of CMI Entrance Exam 2025 would be notified to candidates on their admit card. Candidates has to appear for the exam in the designated test centre only. In case they visit any other CMI entrance exam test centre, they will not be allowed to take the test. Once the exam centre is allotted, requests to change the centre will not be entertained. 

 CMI Entrance Exam Admit Card is expected to be released in the fourth week of April 2025. Registered candidates can download it by entering their registration credentials. The CMI Entrance Exam admit card carries information such as personal details, exam date and time, exam centre address and exam day guidelines and instructions. The CMI admit card is a mandatory document to be carried to the exam centre. The CMI admit card 2025 will be available only online, and candidates must preserve it until the exam's counselling or admission process is complete. 

CMI Entrance Exam 2025 Results is expected to be declared in the first week of June 2025. CMI Entrance Exam merit list/ result carries the roll numbers and/or names of candidates qualifying for the BSc, and MSc entrance exams. Candidates will have to download their scorecards by entering their login credentials. The scorecard carries the information on sectional and overall scores, percentile and All India Rank (AIR). The scorecards should also be preserved till the CMI Entrance Exam 2025 admission process is over.
